The AOC Envision A17W221 only has a NTSC tuner (analog). If you are using an OTA antenna, you probably need a digital (ATSC) to NTSC converter box to get any TV signals. These include the ones sold with the government coupon at the switchover. Very few analog stations still broadcast; they were limited to low power transmitters. Thus you need to be close to the transmitter to receive a watchable TV program. For the best signal to the AOC A17W221, connect the component video out on the converter box to the component in on the TV. The specifications for the A17W221 are available on the Amazon sale page,

Unfortunately, I can't find the manual for the A17W221. AOC only lists a few manuals for current models. These are available here:

I hope this helps. To check for available stations in your area, use a site like antennaweb.org or tvfool.com. Antennaweb gives very conservative estimates on stations that you should be able to receive with an external antenna.

No sound on channel 4.1, but on all other channels
There is 5.1 and 7.1 no 4.1, the 5.1 is front center,front right, and front left, then rear left and rear right, the .1 is the sub-woofer, thus we have 3 front 2 rear and 1 sub-woofer, the 7.1 has a left and right center channel 7 speakers and and 1 or sometimes 2 sub woofers.if cbs isn't working it is not an audio problem, more likely an antenna or cable problem, some local channels are a pain in the **** to pull in with a standard antenna. Scrambled is the video, it may be encrypted if you are using an FTA box to pull in dish or a cable box that is not mpeg 4 compliant, I can help you more if you need it but first I need to know what you are trying to watch and what type of equipment, as this stuff is pretty standardized, but I need to know what you are trying to watch and with which equipment.
Can change the sound with my remotes
I recently bought a GE universal remote control,
SKU: 24950, that has a control code for the AOC A17W221 TV. I bought mine at
Target. You can check online to see if your local store has one before you go there. It's also listed on the
GE site under consumer electronics accessories with a price. Don't know if they sell it online, though.
AOC 24G2U all buttons only control the input since this week, can't access the settings menu and the screen will start to switch input by itself?
