Konica Minolta DiMAGE 7i Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Top viewing eyepiece is broken.
Some sellers have some pretty good aftermarket replacements. Give them a look. Sony Center was makeing this job at 2010, but no more; even way, you could try calling at Digital Product Support: 1-877-462-4464 . Also, try asking in this link for
Minolta Support site; additionally, I quote some comments about this part...
I got the round eyepiece from
Orion Store Site and it fit perfectly. I liked it so much I adapted one to my more recent Panasonic. It was a perfect fit for the D7i. You stretch the rubber around the existing eyepiece.
Also, could try to contact with this seller:

I just purchased a 4GB
I suspect 2GB is the maximum the camera will take. A 2GB Sandisk card works in my 7i. When the DiMAGE 7i was launched, 256mB was about as big as CF cards got!
I can't remember how to format the memory card on my camera - I've searched all the functions, but can't remember how to do it!
Hello Sir
-
1
Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you
have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader
from Amazon.com or Buy.com
-
2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
-
3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
-
4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
-
5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This
is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted
to do in the first place.
-
6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and
insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to
it to make sure it works fine now.
Konica Minolta DiMAGE 7i Digital Camera Problem
I just found a solution to my camera problem. It turned out to be the
batteries. We purchases some Rechargable Duracel with a 2650mAh rating.
After charging the batteries I put them in the camera and it started
right up and was taking photos like when we first bought it. I have not
been able to use the camera in almost 2 years and it turns out the
problem was weak batteries.
So anyone that has a Minolta Dimage
7i and cant get it to turn on make sure you have at least 2650mAh rated
rechargable batteries. The higher the mAh rating the better.
Hope this helps someone else. We are ecstatic that we can use our camera again. No more using my camera phone!!!

You both are in luck. This sounds like a defective Sony CCD issue. Sony will fix your Minolta camera for free (with free shipping) regardless of warranty. You need to do this before March 31, 2008 so get going! See this link:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?template_id=1&news_id=131#
The Dimage models that Sony is accepting for the recall repair are:
Dimage 7HI, 7I, A1, Xi, F300, XT, X20, S414.
No picture
The camera does not require a new CCD. This problem is most likely due to a stuck or malfunctioning shutter mechanism in the lens. Normally the camera will open the shutter to allow you to see the image so you can compose, and then when you take the picture it will close the shutter momentarily and record what the CCD saw at that moment. If the shutter does not open in the first place - all you see is black. If this is in fact your issue the camera will need to be repaired.

go to the Konica Minolta customer technical support[now part of Sony]
However I doubt an item of this age is repairable
due to lack of parts.
