Formatting it in the camera is the only way to get it to work. Try it again and be sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position.

remove 6 phillipscews open camera.There is a little drivemotor for the lens,next to it is a shaft activating the limit switch for lens opening and closing.Carefully spray plastic safe electronic cleaner into the opening.Now apply 3 volt to the motor reversing polarity a few times to activate the limits.
