Find someone with an electric multi-meter or an ohm meter and have them locate your problem. You can do this yourself, get someone to teach you how. You will need to take the back off the machine, or, depending on the model, remove the front and the top.

Model DDE5100M dryer..serial number VF22384GG is
Your dryer is called 220, but in actuality it is only 110 X 2. If you have a 3 pronged plug to go into the wall, each of the slanted & flat prongs are carrying 110 volts. The roundish center prong is a ground.
One of the flat prongs is for the motor and the controls, the other is for the heating element. If you have a 4 pronged plug, the two side flat parallel lugs are 110 volts each, and the top flat and the roundish lugs are both ground.

High squeak when dryer is drying
You don't mention the year make and model of dryer, but most often it is a dry bearing or bushing, or the drum is rubbing on a piece of metal that is supposed to have a nylon glide attached. It would help if you could do a "mechanic's stethoscope" to the machine to help yourself locate the source of the squeak. A "mechanic's stethoscope" is a long screwdriver or the equivalent. You put your ear to the wood or plastic handle and you put the other end in various place on the machine to try to locate the loudest squeal. When you take the whole machine apart, the source of the problem should be readily apparent.

The felt gasket came almost all the way off whats
You will need to take the whole machine apart and decide whether you wish to reuse to old one or replace it. Remember, a new one will be VERY tight and hard to replace, ( on purpose ). If you old one is in good shape, you will need some super glue to glue it back on. I do not mean the product "super glue". It take a special cement, heatproof.
You may obtain a part number on "Sears Parts" by model number.
You may also find parts on "e-bay".

GE WASHER MODEL GFWH1200HOWW RUNNING EXTRAAA LONG ON WASH CYCLES??
Hello Heather
Good to see you again.
Also check the small strainers on the water connectors. They can block up with limescale and debris. While the connectors are off, turn on the water into a bucket or a sink. You should have a VERY powerful jet of water. Anything that will reduce flow will lengthen the fill time and therefore to total wash time due to fill and rinses. When it pumps out, also check you have good flow in the drain hose and items can jam in the ridges and catch lint enough to block them almost completely.
One clever thing to do is whilst the water inlet connectors are off, unlock the drain hose, unhook the part that makes the hook, put the round connector in the hose and wrap a tea towel around it. Get someone to turn the water on full bore whilst you are gripping the two hoses together. Run it for a full minute. Water will be flushed into the machine through the pump in reverse. Put everything back and run a rinse and spin with nothing in it, look at all the black lint that is pumped out! I did that once at work and found an apple stalk that had lodged across the ridges of the drain hose which had 90% blocked the pipe.

Stripped connection at the cold water intake into washing machine
If your inlet valve itself is stripped then you have to replace the valve. The plastic thread is part of the inlet valve. If its only the screen in your inlet valve you can remove the screen and replace it. However if you crossthread anything plastic it HAS to be replaced.
If you give me your model number of the washer usually the wpl 4318046 can be used as an inlet valve which is a cheaper alternative than your local parts distributor would tell you. GE parts on avg are 30% more expensive than anything else. On ANY ge appliance there is usually a way around there replacements with some minor altercations. I wish this site had a way you could contact me directly. I just joined so am not an expert yet but ive done my time in the field. If i could give you any expert advise its DONT BUY GE, OR LG.
Let me know if this helps.
Winterizing a washer in a summer cabin

GE GUD27ESSM1SS stackable washer dryer stuck in spin cycle
A top-load washer tub is usually supported by four suspension rods. If one of the suspension rods becomes dislodged or breaks, the control board may stop the spin cycle several times to try to balance the clothes. Suspension rods will often come in a set of four and it is recommended to replace all four of the rods at the same time to reduce uneven wear.
