For white rice, put 2 cups water in the bottom and 2 cups water in the rice dish along with 2 cups rice (also in the rice dish!). Plug it in and when the light goes out, it's ready. Also, one thing to remember is to clean the little well after each use with a bit of vinegar so it doesn't build up hard water deposits (unless you're lucky enough not to have hard water!) It makes a BIG difference in the rice steamer's operation. BTW: each mark on the side of the steamer's base is about 1 cup which equals about 20 minutes of steam time. Hope that helps. -Donna

No solution here but I have the same issue with an 18 quart roaster. Called Rival and they don't have handles and they didn't have any suggestions!!

However I did measure out the distance between the holes and it is 6 1/2 inches apart. Hopefully either an appliance retail/repair store may have something or even a hardware store. That's where I'm going!

The temperature control dial - thermostat or heating element, need to be replaced. You need to check both.

Since you don't have the power indication light then it might be first the thermostat or a wire attached to it has been burned out and there is not any contact. Replace wires or replace thermostat.

If they are ok then check heating element if there is an open in continuity test then replace.

I strongly recommend on 15" pedestal for washers or dryers by Samsung (model WE357A7P).The 15" pedestal will allow you to lift your washer or dryer to a more convenient height and will allow more storage with its convenient self closing drawer.

Take it back to where you bought it and get a refund or exchange under warranty.

No this company is ***!!! it will not even let you just purchase the cord. You must purchase a new cooker. And they are the only makers of the cord. You cannot buy one from a store anywhere

It looks like the control pane can be lifted out of the unit, looks like,
it can, if the control panel lifts out after removing everything that can be taken out, the button should be somewhere on the back.

Reset buttons are usually a tiny pin hole, and you take a paper clip and stick in the hole, but this should be just a small button that you press.

This sounds like it should be returned to seller for replacemnt under warranty rather than you attempting to replace it at your cost. Rival have had several ofr these complaints against faulty handles so get onto your distributor for replacement or refund.

if you mean that the surface is sticking to what you are cooking try turning the temperature down a little and if that doesnt work use a spray oil like pam when you cook

The problem is that the heating element and front control panel is not sitting in correctly. Remove the heating element/front control panel. Grab the heating element and gently pull it away from the control panel. Use care as you can break the elements off of the control panel. Reinsert and attempt to close the lid. If it does not close, then repeat this process being careful to not over bend the elements. The lid uses two plastic extensions to latch to the control panel and if the control panel is extended away from the fryer front, the lid will not latch. Also the fryer will not work as there are sensors in the control panel to sense if it is close enough to the fryer.

I posted a comment on a solution?? but want to e-mail you too. Line the pan with heavy duty aluminum foil before frying food. It's better than having teflon flakes on your meat.

I had the same issue with my tefal cooker.

It may be that the bottomof the pot is a little bend in and it you can push it out a little, it may then push the thermostat down the required distance
