My 40" Hyundai TV keeps going off it comes back on wen I hit it four ten minini
Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Power dead
Hi,
If your TV won't turn on, you should check the power cord. Make sure that it is securely in the wall plug. Sometimes the power cord has burned out and needs to be replaced. You may also want to check the batteries in the remote to make sure it working , if otherwise power supply board is dead, you know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
I hope this will help to fix the fault and do take care in handling the set......

My son played with the remote and accidentally
You have to go into the menu and go to sound set up and turn the internal speakers on. If that don't fix the audio problem, it is possible the audio processor is locked up. To fix that problem you need to unplug the TV from the wall for 40 MIN, and that will reset the processor back to normal.

Solid yellow line down the side of the screen
Use the screen size button to change to 16:9. If it is in the mode where the TV decides, a yellow or green bar may show up for some unknown reason. (acutally, there is a reason, but not worth getting into). This works on Samsung TVs. The mode is called "Just Scan" when the TV decides what screen size to use on a Samsung. I don't know what it is called on a Hyundai.

Flickers all the time. I think its the backlight
The flickering is most likely due to a faulty inverter board and could just be a dry joint, try reflowing the solder on the connections where the wires from the bulb meet the board. obviously do not open the tv at all if you dont have the relevent electrical experience and only do it without the tv connected to the mains

Black lines on plasma
The matrix controler or the matrix drive area is failing. The fix is to change the proper circuit boards, and then do the factory setup to match the board is necessary. In the worse case, it may be the display screen itself that has a failure occuring.
You will have to bring the set for factory service to have the work done. If the set is out of warranty, it may be expensive to service.

Hitachi lcd has small green line on screen
I would have to see this to make some kind of guess of where the fault is. But, usualy these types of faults are on one of the drive boards to the screen, or a bad ribbon cable or connector, or the screen itself. The set would be serviced with board, and or parts replacement.
You will have to take the set in for service.

Plasma wnt stay on
I have had this problem in some models of plasma sets before. In most cases the power supply and main drive boards had to be replaced. In a small number of cases the failure was the screen itself.
In all cases, the cost of the repair was expensive. For the screen failure, the set was scrapped.
