there are some caps on the signal PCB on the left side of the TV as you look in the back. these will leak(you can tell by the bulges on top...replace these capacitors.

Likely has bad 1000UF capacitors on DM module. this will prevent rebooting.

I would Go Component instead if possible---there are adaptors for the HDMI but you are likely to have issues that way as well.

For model listed here, a issue likely on the Blue CRT circuit board, bad grounds and even seen a tiny crack on that board do this, sounds like blue is dropping out.

You need to turn down the voltage on all 3 crt's. You have a red one, a blue one and a green one. Slowly adjust the knob down until you don't see the shadow any more. Then adjust your color in the user menu.

A few things you could and should try, try something on a different input if you are using the coax connection just to know if problem exists that way, could be a bad tuner but that can be got around, also if on all inputs the set does have a hard reset that requires the Mitsubishi remote and a four digit code to enter the hidden option menu.check the other inputs first please and let me know.

If you contact Mitsubishi the set has three hidden menus---convergence adjust, circuit adjust and OPTION MENU.Each model uses a four digit code with menu and for example 4750 and in the Option menu is the option to do the hard reset for the set---The wipes all labels (dvd etc) and puts set back to default on all factory settings.You might find it if you GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER with option menu after it...........

IF model number posted is correct and green power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off:On front of set press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and release both buttons.Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.Let me know what error code is found and I will tell you what it means.SD TECH

No,tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it is dead.This problems it is the tv board that call the convergence board it is dead.This convergence board must require to be replace 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too on the convergence board too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

The only option you have is to connect it via Component cables (Red, Blue, Green) and analog audio cables (Red, White) to get an Analog HD 1080i at best picture and analog stereo sound. I have to tell you though, your BD player is better than your TV and by using it on this TV you are missing out on the unit's full potential of features. I would highly recommend you consider upgrading and if your're looking to save a few bucks and get an amazing picture, consider upgrading to a Mitsubishi DLP. They are as low as $799 for 60".

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

have you tried adjusting the convergence on the tv

once they get older or get moved you need to do this

go through on screen menus and look for adjusting convergence menu and follow on screen instructions

YES, you either have a fuse that went out or the convergence IC went out... Sometimes it just comes unsoldered and causes the same effect. You need to locate this "IC" and tap on it with something non metallic. Like a ruler or a stick. While the tv is running and crosshatch is up on screen. If the lines get close as you tap on the IC or bang on the tv. then fuse is good and the tv might just need to be resoldered on that CONVERGENCE IC. Did you run the error code operational check? In not unplug the set and plug it back in. Press and hold the DEVICE and MENU buttons for 5 seconds and release. The LED should flash a certain number of times a short pause and another series of blinks. Count the number of blinks before and after the pause, and let me know.

Bulb is probably dead, you can find a bulb online and put it into the TV. Refer to page 79 of your owner's manual to see how to disassemble the TV(available online here).
