Mitsubishi VS-45607 45" Rear Projection Television - Page 3 Questions & Answers
No sound or picture on mitsubishi
Some simple things to look at but they envolve getting at the main boards; it means someone has to unbolt the main chassis and examine it.
What happens a lot with these older sets is bad solder connections develop.
A lot of the problems are easy to see and begin in the power supply looking at all the 3 lead devices--let me know how much expertise you have I would be happy to help you.

Yes......w\they call this the blink of death for these sets. It will most like ly need a DM board which may exceed practical expense or may not be available. In some instances an experienced shop will replace the capcitors in the assembly and fix it....other times it will need the assembly
Replacing capacitors on Mitsubshi projection TV
You should start looking for any capacitor that looks like it is bulged at the top. You could also look for discoloration on the tops of them.
Make sure you use a high quality replacement and be aware that even if you find one that looks bad, you may have some that are bad but don't have any visible signs.
There is a wavy blue light to the right of every
It sounds like cloudy coolant to me, but this is by no means a ten minute fix. Usually a fuse will just make the TV not turn on. I am not familiar with your model, but if you can get inside the tv and look down the blue gun, you should be able to tell if it looks cloudy or not.
Color is off and there a light blue line through
manual convergence should fix the problem if it does not the set most likely either has a bulb burnt out or a bulbs power / focus needs to be adjusted by taking off the panel and finding a 6 screw control panel
...
...
should look like that 3 screws in a row on top of another three screws each of thees control the power and focus of each color this is a somewhat delicate process and is a huge pain on larger tvs that you cannot completely see the picture or color while you are directly under in front of it so I had my gf come in the room and sit across to let me know which color was doing what if you dont have someone you will need to check after each adjustment
now the diagnostic
as i said each screw controls a colors power and focus the focus is used if you see an outline of a color around pictures if everyone looks like a dead jedi with a blue aura around them the blue focus needs to be adjusted and so on for each color if you skies or blue screens seem feint your blue power probably needs to be turned up and so on for each color
if through the course of this you can see the bulbs and notice one is out your probably looking at dealing with the color issue until the time you can purchase a new tv as the cost of the bulb and the technician needed to install it as they are wired to a circuit board and requires technical knowledge and tools
hope this helped

My almost 10 yr old Mitsubishi HDTV intermitently has color flux
The Main issues with the Mitsubishi HDTVs that size are the projection bulbs in the rear. A large TV like the Mitsubishi can allow dust build up on the lamps and the mirror in the rear that projects the picture to the screen. An easy fix would be to clean off the dust off of the mirror and bulbs. You would need to go through a tough processto do this since the mirror can be quite heavy and is in an ackward place. The only other alternative would be the need to replace the projection lamps themselves which can cost any where fromm $150 - in some cases $300 a piece for the lamp itself. The Television is still a great set but can cost quite a bit right now to fix if the problem is with the Lamps. If you can afford the Lamp replacement if it is needed the set would last you another 10 years plus. If you wouldn't like to go through the hassle of repairing the set or finding a place to repair the set there are so many new sets out in the market that will give you an amazing picture and quality.

Crack in the center of the screen
A new screen is expensive near $350 but you can usually get a good used one for half of that or usually less. Sometimes larger screens can be cut to fit smaller screens. Call your local repair shop they might have some available.
Problem for Mitsubishi VS-45607 45 in. Rear
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. Heat is the
number one enemy of electronics, and these sets operate hot. This problem is
caused by the power supply being overloaded. This is often caused by failed
convergence ICs. I don’t think the issue is with the power supply of the unit
as the sound is coming fine from the unit. This model of TV has over 3,000
parts which include millions of transistors inside the integrated circuits. Over time the
capacitors will change value, leak and become defective. Resistors will change
value and burn. This will cause other components to become defective. This can
has a domino effect and cause other parts to fail. Replacing one defective part
may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again since if
the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced. The typical
cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300 - and it doesn't mean that
he/they will do a job better than you do. The parts are less than $100 (about
$20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Replacing only the IC's
MAY solve the problem; however, many people have also had blown resistors
requiring replacement. Why would you ask should you replace both of the IC's if
only one is shot?! If one is shot the other one is not far away and for that
little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. Also
the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the
ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately,
meaning you may have to do the repair twice.
Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance.
Thanks

My tv has many lines in the screen. what kind of
You may be suggesting a convergence problem..when the blue and red boxes will not center. You have bad grounds on the convergence ICs. Resolder or replace theses ICs. Or you may be asking about a problem in the vertical section. Vertical problems will appear as horizontal lines on the TV. In this case you have bad capacitors near ithe vertical IC and must also resolder or replace the vertical IC.
It stays on for a different length of time each
This tv is aging and you many bad grounds on the deflection board [it has the flyback transformer] And many bad grounds on the signal module [has convergence ICs]. And many many bad capacitors..I know as I repaired a few of these.

You may have to replenish the fluid in the crt and be sure you have a good seal. This is an ageing tv...you may consider getting a new one. I don't blame you for trying to save this one...as the picture on this model is one of best!
