You might check the fuse, but I think you have more of a problem than that.

Hi Gloria,
Mitsubishi is the best DLP big screen on the market, ask your husband not to lose faith!
Mits had some issues with DLPs right around the time yours was manufactured, the issues did not affect all sets, I recommend contacting Mitsubishi Consumer relations @ 1-(800)-332-2119, explain to them your situation and the history of your TV and they will be happy to assist you, speak nicely,be professional and they will work with you.
Now, Mits did have some Thermocouple issues around that time, so I would ask about that, and they also had some optical block problems around that time, so I would bring that up also, I do not know if either of these are the problem with your TV, but I hope this gives you another avenue towards resolution of the TVs problem!

Good Luck !

What you want to do is first remove the mesh grill on the front. Just give a tug and it'll pop off. Then remove all the screws along the bottom of the screen. Now it should just slide up a few inches and come off. Be carefull, you have to disconnect the control panel. It'll have a little disconnect connector on it and will be visible once you pull the mesh off.

looks like the Green , RED and Blue are out of alignment and needs to be sent to the TV repair station for alignment

Not advisable. $500.00 is way over board what we charge for that repair. 250-300 max. I don't know of any shop or with our tech web site that charges that kind of money. I would still shop around.

You have the typical convergence IC falure that every projection TV encounters at least once in its lifespan. The convergence ICs will both need to be repalce as it will only get worse. if you have no solid state repair experience, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck

If the screen is black it is broken, that is why you got it for nothing. You saved the person the disposal fee. https://www.fixya.com/support/r29790007-repairing_own_television It is a DLP projection television, a veritable antique of old technology that has projection bulbs that need changing once a year. I would suggest that your bulb has probably failed. They are $30 to $52 each! https://www.google.com/search?q=Mitsubishi+1080+medalion+hd+manual .. ..

Antique technology! :>) It maybe that the guard around the fan is catching the fan blade. The only thing you can do is strip it down. It maybe something vibrating because it is loose and needs tightenening. Or you could just buy an 86" Ultra HD Flat screen :>D
