Sounds like you're stuck on..... Video 1 or Video 2 (whichever). If you can access your TV's menu at the front panel, you should be able to switch over fairly easy. Hit MENU. Using your VOLUME UP & DOWN buttons, Go to CABLE/SATELITE/ANTENNA, hit VOLUME UP or DOWN 'til it switches back to TV picture then hit ENTER. If you do not have an access panel in front but possibly have any other remote (cable or satelite or home theater, etc...) that can be paired with this TV and has an INPUT button, you can change the setting that way.

Hope this info was helpful. Good Luck!

I think you may be missing a power supply voltage from the sweep supply from a shorted convergence IC or a Bad capacitor. Not alot a user can do as it is a splid state set and requires know how of the circuits to find out whats bad in that circuit. Please seek out a trained tech to assit you in this repair.

Are you using the same S-Video in for the DVD player that you are using for the Cable Box? I would think probably not, but need to ask before going further. Are you unplugging the S-Video, plugging in the cable box, it has issues, unplugging again, then plugging in the DVD and it's fine in the same port?

Hi, this will occur when the convergence unit has failed . you will need to replace the convergence board in this unit in order to restore proper convergence functions. This is just below the optical assembly in the PCB main area next to the signal board and terminal block.

First of all check the circuit boards to see if ant CRT coolant has bee leaking on them. A strong flashlight will work best to spot it. It will usually appear on the front half of the boards nearest to the screen,. Mitsubishi has had some issue with CRT leakage. Also check for solder cracks around the Convergence amp ICs. Let me know what you discover, or if you need anything more.

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size

The main problem is that you have an antique dinosaur that is well past its sell by date.

Here is an answer, but the age is the problem. An 86" Ultra HD 4K flat screen set would greatly improve your viewing enjoyment, though not the effect on your pocket!
