The blink sequence is dot,dot...dot,dot

if you are saying 2 blinks, 2 blinks I can help.
this is short protection and means a fuse and convergence problem.

I have start to finish instructions for this if you are interested.

you can also email me or chat at [email protected]

Convergence fix

I had all my new parts bought 2 tackle the convergence problem I was facing...CFIs, solder, flux, new iron, CANS OF COMPRESSED AIR!!, (had 2 go back out 4 that) & I dove in. I cant even remember the last time I soldered something but had read soo many blogs about people with way less experience than me gettin it done.. so what the heck.. I cant watch it the way it is anymore anyways! So I unscrewed all the screws & put em in a plastic bag.. pulled the covers off..front & back! U get more light, have more access if u need it, can get an"extra hand" from the other side, & there is somewhere 4 all the dust 2 go when u empty a compressed can in there. So after an hour of carefully planning my next moves, labeling & pulling wires & very closely inspecting almost every solder point on those boards w my Mag light.. I just didnt get it... I thought 4 sure there would b some signs of damage or SOMETHING 2 say "hey im broke!" but I couldnt see anything. Finally...(luckily just before).. I was about 2 remove the "bad" CFIs..there it was! The very end solder of 1 of the CFIs on the under side of the board..was a lil tiny crack horizontaly accross the 1st pin solder. I gave it a wiggle..very loose..gave the next few wiggles..didnt move. So I applied the tiniest amount of solder 2 fix that pin up & pushd the board in only enough 2 hook up the wires & went 4 the smoke test....Holy ****! That IS a good picture!!! & it actually should only have cost me the price of the solder & gun.. ----So just take ur time & really inspect it. U may have less work than u think! ;)

My TV just shut off and will not turn on again.

If green power light comes on for a second or two and goes off, do the self check the set has.

On the front of the set press and hold BOTH the MENU and INPUT buttons at the same time and release them after 5 seconds or longer.

Power light will blink a two digit error code about 5 times. 2 blinks, pause and 2 blinks is typical one seen most.

Let me know by replying to this solution what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

I have a WS65807 model

Part shows as no longer available, https://www.encompassparts.com/webwiz/wwiz.asp?wwizmstr=WEB.SEE&partnumber=7059562 This is listed as the signal panel, are you having trouble with convergence ? Intergrated chips for this are available, part number STK392-560. You need soldering skills to replace. Most common failure on those sets. The module you ask about is not available for resale and is very expensive. I did not see one on EBay.

How do you get laptop screen to show on the tv by

Connect the HDMI cord to both. Switch to the HDMI input on the TV. Boot the laptop. If you're using Windows and the TV doesn't show the laptop's screen, right click anywhere on the desktop that doesn't have an icon, then select properties. In the tab to the right of the resulting window, you should be able to enable screen mirroring, expansion, or switching.

Some laptops also have a function key set that you press to switch monitor outputs. Look for keys with secondary, alternate color commands on them. It will normally take a set of key presses.

Scratched plastic screen protector

I have a rear projection TV that I thought had a scratch as well. Upon closer examination and several attempts to clean, I discovered that there was a spider web behind the screan in front of the color projectors. I carefully removed the screen and gently cleaned the spider web from the screen. Presto no more scratches.

Hope this is a viable solution for you as well.

Mitsubishi ws-65809 powers on for 2 seconds.

2,2 error code is short protection---98% of the time it means one of the two soldered in pico fuses this set uses is blown----there are several---but your problem means if it is ws-65809 one of the two stk-392-570 convergence chips has failed.

I will attach a photo---they are on the middle circuit board and the two to the right are for convergence--both are green and 5 amp--with the set unplugged check both of them like any fuse--no reading means bad.

If you find this--I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS SET--SHOPS WILL GET 300 or more but you if you can do it yourself buy everything you need for under 40 dollars--I can tell you the best place to get the chips, fuses, etc.

If you want the instructions let me know and I will post them here for you---they are based on my own actual experience doing this repair in this kind of set hundreds of times.

If this information helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Here is a photo of what the two chips look like--The one in the picture says 392-560 but yours uses two that look just like it--STK-392-570.

I have a Mitsubishi

Hi,
Please let access to the "Error codes operational check" to confirm if there was a log of error on the processor. Follow the steps below.
Pressing the front panel "Input" and "Menu" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds, activates the error code mode. The led flashes denoting a two digit error code.
Note : the front panel buttons must used, not those on the remote control.
> the number of flashes indicates the value of the SMD (tens digit) of the error code.
> flashing green then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
> the led then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the error code.
> the error code is repeated a total of 5 times.
Example : if the error code is "24" , the led will flash two times, pause, then flash four times.
Let me know the error code to assist you further.

My 65 in mitsubishi medallion

Mitsubishi self check: MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device" and "menu"buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and twoblinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.
