More than likely the power relay is sticking.

Which input on the tv did you use?

Was there a power failure? unplug unit for a min and plug it back in. hold power button til unit turns on. If it still flashes you may have a power supply problem inside the unit.

tried to check the power on button with a analog tester weather the resistance doesn't have good contact. otherwise you must replace it.

Look first in the menu for the set and then in the menu for a box if used:In either place if set is set to SAP (secondary audio program) some channels will be in Spanish or have no sound.It can be the setting in the TV or a cable or sat box if used.

Its a very old set and if happens on all inputs and cables have been ruled out something serious--the rear inputs bypass the tuner in the set and based on its age I would not suggest spending major money (if you can find someone willing to work on a set of this age) on this set.Many parts for this are no longer available.

This is a older model and likely the first generation of HD set made by Mitsubishi---where the HD input is on rear (DTV?) ARE THERE TWO JACKS MARKED H sync and V sync?If they are there set needed an external box made only by Mitsubishi for for later HD use.

A fuse can cost a few dollars; The question is what is your set doing or not doing, I have fixed and lot of the Mitsubishi sets,.

Turned out to be a problem with my dish receiver. Found out by attaching a separate DVD unit to the TV, and it didn't flash. I then realized everything ran through the dish receiver. Called them, reset ( by unplugging for 90 seconds) and all was well.
