My tv no turn on

abal1974,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this unit has several serious problems. The electrolytic capacitors on the DM and power supply boards dry out and go bad. Mitsubishi no longer supports this unit. The good news is that the following site has a repair kit which may solve your problem http://www.tvrepairworld.com/mitsubishi_repair_kits . I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4425498-basic_standard_tv_troubleshooting which should be helpful to troubleshoot the unit.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Please consider a testimonial.

Mitsubishi WS-55813 screen goes blue then power goes off

It appears to be a common problem with these units. Looking at the chats in different forum on the internet including fixya.com, this problem is reported as early as 2 years ago by some users.

The solution might involve going to a technician to fix it. But if you have the original remote unit and the manuals then first try to do a hard reset of the TV to the default factory settings. You will loose all the programmed channel selections etc.

Good Luck.

My mitsubishi projection tv, ws55813, was losing

There is a hard reset you can try on this set--it is done with the Mitsubishi remote that came with the set.

Confirm actual model number and I will tell you how to try it. The set will shut off after the reset(not the reset button some of these sets have on the front) and come back on channel 3 in the air band--any labels for inputs will be replaced by original input numbers etc.

No guarantee this will fix your problem but it will return the set to the condition it was when new in the box.

Let me know if you want to try this.

Mits. 55" Model 55511

Get you a little solder and a cheap soldering iron and try soldering the vertical output ic which is mounted on a heatsink on the circuit board. Be careful when disconnecting plug connectors and I suggest marking them as you disconnect them. Also resolder the convergence i.c.s which are mounted on the largest heatsink on the board. Vert. i.c. has about 9 - 11 pins and convergence have about 25 ea. Start by carefully undoing all wire ties, remove the few screws that hold in the board then slide it back towards you to access bottom(solder side). For the most part, any component that is mounted to a heatsink gets hot and cools down when set is off causing cold solder joints. So any part mounted to a heatsink is suspect. This repairs a high percentage of sets like yours. Good luck, Russmann.

Screen blacks out

Check your set for coolant leakage. It is very prevalent on Mits HDreadys.

If your 4 layer Signal board - beneath the blue gun - has coolant on it, you'll have problems finding a replacement. If it's the boards under the other 2 guns, they can always be repaired as they are single layer.

A drip shed should be installed to keep the coolant off your boards.
