The chassis comprises all the boards inside it so yes, it's surely in there. Since the status light (the red one) is off it means that the power source is completely dead so you will surely have to replace it. The power source board rarely fails so badly on its own - some other component/board has failed catastrophically and in turn it has fried the power source board. The most likely one to have caused that is the inverter board, the one that powers the bulb.
Don't replace just the power board and hope for the best - the moment you will try to start the tv you will end up with another fried power board. So to fix your tv you will have to open it, test it to locate the origin of the failure and replace both boards.

Bad digital/power module. Contact Mitsubishi, they may cover part of repair, I am serious. If not, have a an authorized servicer send module to Mitsubishi for rebuild program. The only economical solution.

which LED blinks yellow? that model has a filter in the back that you really want to keep clean. also make sure that the lamp door on the back is securely closed. the lamp door and filter are right next to each other.

Try using a different HDMI port on the TV. It may be you are plugging it into a the DVI-HDMI port, which does not display FULL HD, or carry sound.

If the splotches are a shawdowy black and look like mold growing between the Lens, its most likely dirt or water spots on the bottom of the large mirror. I cleaned mine and missed a few water spots on the bottom of the large mirror and the splotches (spots) showed on the screen. Other than Dirt, or water spots, There is nothing else that I can think of that would cause this. Unless the Someone has cleaned the screen and it soaked up between the lenes. But it Takes about 30 minutes to disassemnble, give it a good cleaning and put it back together.

You don't. They are sealed for a reason. If you're mirrors need cleaning, have a professional do it.

Unplug the set for 2 hours then plug it back in. After a power outage when the power returns it will sometimes send tvs into a dumb mode, unpluging will reset the tv to factory settings and it should run just fine

The lamp needs replacement.

Hi, Please check your RF( antenna circuit) for malfunction. The first part attacked by lightning is RF. But it can spread to other parts.
