I have a mitsubishi ws-55315. Only the Composite 1 inout and monlink input with an hdmi adapter work, and only with certain components. the monlink works with my Dish reciever, and my xbox 360 work

Normally I would provide you with the 4 digit code to reset the entire set and restore all inputsI am away from home and do not have the information here===these sets have three hidden service menus==one for adjust, one for convergence and the last for a Hard reset of the entire set.set gets turned on with the Mitsubishi remote and a four digit number code (by model number) is entered and then enter button pressed.Set reverts to factory default on ALL settings.Mitsubishi is reluctant to tell people who phone but usually will if you tell them you know it has this feature. This should restore all inputs and if you have labeled any inputs (like video one being marked dvd) it will remove those as part of the process.

You are going to have to have a Mitsubishi remote to do it--with that contact Mitsubishi and ask for the 4 digit code to enter to do the hard reset of the set--puts everything back to factory original when set was new.

Problem with the Mitsubishi WS-55315

ONLY1 of 2 things can cause this problem----First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and issecured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard of theset---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you canunplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and differents so you cannot get them wrong)The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc fromthe circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with theremote---These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to theleft as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light willblink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. Itis called the DM board. If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad resetswitch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or toremove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and removeand/or replace it.If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---thereceiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail inthat unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and notthe caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--ifyou need to know their name let me know---You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.Let me know what more information you need--I am here to help.SD TECH

kevinger8,

This is the begining of a known problem with this model. Bad electrolytic capacitors on the DM board and power board. If you fix it now you may save it. See my tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r7065906-mitsubishi_turn_flashing_power_timer for help.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Hi my tv is the ws-55315 and i turn the tv on the

WHEN the power light goes off on front of set, press and hold both the menu and input (device) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

Power light will blink an error code: most common is 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and it will repeat code several times.

This is self check and will narrow down what is wrong with your set.

Let me know what code you find and I will tell you what it means.

The power light comes on when I turn it off and

You can check error codes. push and hold the device and menu button on the front of the set then count the blinks... usally this is the first thing us tech do when we get them in the shop. it will ussally be be a series of flashes then a pause then more flashes.. this 2 digit number will point to a certain curcit.. However sometimes it might not work... if you get a 21 this means no error.... and the problem will be harder to troubleshoot.

If we have an hd-ready television and we have

You need a HD box connected to the DTV input on the back of the set (it is marked 1080) This set has only one HD input for this---HD ready means it will work only with a box (some newer sets have a HD tuner built into them and for basic HD channels do not need a box).

Hi:

The most common failure for this model is the deflection board assembly or commonly known as a Large Signal board. The unit is going into shutdown, mode because no high voltage. Unless you are strongly electronically inclined I suggest you try to replace the deflection board.

The picture on my Mitsubishi ws-55315 fades away

It could be oxidized contacts in the lamp housing connector. Remove the lamp housing as you would to change the lamp (follow directions in the user's manual regarding proper cool-down first!) and check the metal contact pins or blades. If they are dull or dirty, polish them with a white pencil eraser (usually the kind found on a mechanical pencil works well). Also inspect the connections to the lamp itself. If it appears they are loose or oxidized, you will need to put on a pair of clean vinyl food handler's gloves and carefully open the lamp assembly and clean them. Reinstall the lamp assembly. Do not at any time touch the bulb with bare fingers - skin oil will ruin it!

The lamp connector is the most likely spot for intermittent problems since it is high current and high temperature. It is also possible that a solder connection on the power supply board section that drives the lamp is showing the effects of thermal fatigue (cracking and oxidizing), but you would probably see much more erratic behavior, including cutout and the flashing lamp error light in that case.

It is also possible the lamp filament is on its last legs and the vibration is knocking off loose material that reduces the light output. If that is the case, there will be gray particles visible in the lamp capsule. I've seen this with a dim tabletop projector that suddenly got considerably brighter when it was picked up and turned over while it was running.

Inputs are not working menu screen comes up but

No inputs showing? which board did you change?

There are a few choices here---set does have a hard reset which I can tell you how to access with remote----It is the Option menu--it will allow to reset set to condition it was in when new in box.

Set will turn off, come back on on channel 3 in Air band---

If this information was helpful and you want to know how to get to the Option menu rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

How do i change from 480i to 1080i on my

You can't. Depending on what the output device is sending and what input you are using ion the back, it chooses for you.

ie - if you have a DVD player sending out 480 the TV will only allow different versions of 480.
