No picture or sound. Is this a tuner problem?
A no picture and no sound problem could not be a tuner problem. To test if it is a tuner problem, there must be a sound and picture using the rca input at the back of tv. I would suggest to resolder tuning section not the tuner itself. Thanks for using Fixya.
Tv lock because of parental code
You will need an original remote control, which you can order online. With the original remote, turn the TV on, point the remote at the TV and press the "QV" (quick view) and the "9" buttons at the same time.
Mitsubishi cs-26201 with "speaker off" - how to
After a pulled plug got me Speaker off I was frustrated for weeks and found no solution online until I looked at a site offering original remotes and realizes I was using a VCR's remote for the TV. The Manual was long ago destroyed and is not available online that I can find, but I dug around for the oriignal remote and clicking the Audio button repeatedly brought up the Speaker: Off option and then it was just a press of Adjust to turn it back to On - problem solved. I don't know if there is a way to do it without the remote, but the only controls on the TV are those on the front and in addition to steps people online suggested I think I must have tried every combination possible of pressing those in sequence or together as well as everything I could think of on the other Mitsubishi remote and the Universal remote I had been using.
You need to get into the audio menu and turn the speaker on. Usually even without the remote the control the buttons on the set will allow this. Sometimes they are not marked but usually pushing two buttons at once, or holding one while pushing another will work. Experimentation should yield which ones work. Once you are in the menu it should be easy to get to the audio controls using the buttons on the front. Again experimentation and retrys may be required. When you find the correct menu toggle the speaker back on and you should be good. If you don't mind spending the money, and it may make your life easier down the road, this website http://www.remotes.com/ has your factory remote for $67.20 plus shipping. A cheaper alternative may be to buy a universal remote for 5 to 10 dollars but there is no garantee that it will allow you to access the menus. Good luck.

Mitsubishi CS-26201; blue screen and
I think that the trouble of your tv is only a loosed solder or cold solder. Try to remove the back cover of your tv then observe the solder side of your pcb it is much better if you use a magnifying glass to identify the cold solder and try to resolder it but before doing this you should unplug the unit and wait for a minute to discharge the current that your tv stored, and also try to look if there is a bulge up in the top of the capacitor or not perfectly flat like the other capacitor but before removing this capacitor you should observe proper position because it has a polarity. Good day and best regards, feel free to send feed back.
My tv is shows a blue screen. My tv does not

The TV is a Mitsubishi CS-26201C to the extent it
The child managed to press the button on the remote that controls closed-captioning, and now the TV is set for "text" mode. I don't remember if the button says "caption" or "cc", but it's one of those or something very similar. Press the button again to go through the settings until you get back to "off" and the box will be gone.
What's happening is that in text mode, the TV blacks out the area where the text would go. If there isn't any, the result is that mysterious black square. It may not show up at all on some channels, or only during some programs. It depends on whether captioning is being broadcast. Since many TV remotes have a single button to control caption settings, it's easy to get into this mode without realizing it. But it's easy to fix.
Hope this helps! Thanks for using Fixya.
No sound all audio and speakers on...
The only thing you can press on your remote that will affect the sound is if you put it on mute or you reduce the volume to the lowest, besides that, the only problem to be suspected is the sound card in the television.
This will require you to open up the television and try to locate the wires that is connected to the speaker and where it is connecting from, to check for any fault.
I will suggest you connect your television to an external speaker by plugging in a speaker through the earphone plug in on the television.
You can as well connect the the television to your dvd player by connecting its audio out to your dvd's audio in, then you can connect your dvd to an amplifier and the sound would be of high quality.
Unplugged TV for 2 hours.
Thanks for using FixYa. Unfortunately there is no reset button for the TV, you can leave it unplugged for 4-24 hrs and see if it reset itself, if does not then the issue could be due to bad power cable or a power circuit board going bad. If you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/desolder then you can just open the back cover and check for a burned capacitor/cold solder joints, if not then it is recommended to contact a qualified repair technician as these units have high voltages even when switched off.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
