Ricoh Aficio 1018 photocopier
For the Aficio 1018. SC-320 is laser failure - the polygon mirror motor inside the laser has failed and needs replacing. You will need to contact your nearest service agent for repair.
For your RICOH Aficio 1013F - SC-551 is overheat in standby mode as far as I can tell. The circuitry that controls the fuser section ie manages the heat has problem. Unless its right near a source of heat like a heater or has no circulation around you machine you will need contact a repair agent for this machine also.
No blue copy
Hello rfaustin,
I understand your question and the possible reasons behind it. I have been a field engineer servicing copiers for over 20 years and the best answer I can give you is that your device does not have the ability to recognize one color over another. More recent models do but there are limitations there as well.Optical devices primarily look for the presence or absence of data (image) and especially with a black and white copier which because of customer needs have been refined to the point of being able to recognize and reproduce even the lightest lead pencil strokes. And your "digital" copier is one of the best at recognizing any image that is not pure white. You can "lighten" the exposure and minimize the blue as it will of course be naturally lighter than the rest of the black text of your document. I am sorry I could not "FIXYA" :-) but I hope I have helped you a little by providing the answer to your question. Be well. ..............SPINAL............
Ricoh Aficio 1075 - SMTP error message
To use the scan to email function on your copier you need some settings from your internet provider (email setting specifically). Go into Outlook options and get your SMTP server, user name and password.
On your copier you need to change under User tools, system setting and file transfer and put these settings in. As long as your machine is set up for scan to folder thats all you should need.
Won't always print the job
Yes, that is correct, the 1013f is in the same series as the 120.
You can install it as you were trying, or get the latest driver here: http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/rc2/model/x12_13/x12_13en.htm#Microsoft%20Windows%20Vista

possibly the process unit and if you look in through the right hand door you can see the drum ...or it could come from a worn out upper heat roller.

Saying load paper
Actually, you probably do not need a service person.
1. Turn machine off.
2. Remove toner assembly, not just bottle.
3. Unplug wire, and remove PCU. (right door must be open)
4. Remove the paper tray.
5 Turn the machine on its side.
You will be able to see, that it just snaps into place. Most likely one of the tabs broke off, but you can put a drop of super glue on it, and it will be fine. Make sure it has free up/down movement when installed before you glue it.
Then, make sure your guides in your paper tray are in there tracks. That is the most probable cause of your problem.
Way around "load paper' error
no there isn't any way to override it you might try the bypass tray.It might work.you have to be very careful with installing and removeing the paper tray when you do get it fixed.
Text "ghosts" or shadows
Replace Drum or blade(if possible) will fix on most types of copiers/printers, or rarer it is cause of fuser.
