Not Connecting

Hello, Richevekelly - You may just need to take some steps to boost your WiFi signal and / or WiFi speed. Reade the information here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/tech-tips-and-tricks/how-to-increase-wifi-speed.html I also found this information on how to boost a WiFi signal using aluminum foil: http://www.techiepaw.com/boost-wifi-signal-with-aluminum-foil/ It seems like such a McGyver hack, I had to provide it . . . if only for fun. :) Best wishes.

Unable to print from repeated wireless network

If you have done it properly there is no need to bridge networks because there should only be one. The entire idea of a repeater is to simply pick up the signal from the first router and rebroadcast the signal. If you had included the model of the repeater I could have been more specific but as it is, read this: Linksys Official Support Configuring an Access Point as wireless repeater

I'm trying to connect a remote desktop equipped

The setup disc for the router only needs to be run once when setting up the router to work with your internet provider and modem/router. You can try putting the disc in your desktop computer and reconfiguring the router.

I cannot figure out how

Find the small hole in the back or on the bottom of the device. Insert a paperclip end and gently depress the small button on the inside. Hold for 30 seconds. The device must of course be turned off and completely disconected. Your new pass word is now Admin. Go from there.

WHERE IS RESET BUTTON

  1. Turn off your computer.
  2. Unplug or turn off your DSL/cable modem.
  3. Locate, on the back of your Linksys router, the small button that reads Reset
  4. While pressing the Reset button, turn on/plug in router. Hold for 30 seconds.
  5. Wait for your Power, WLAN and Internet light to turn on. (On the router)
  6. Plug in or turn on your modem.(if it is separate from the router)
  7. Open your web browser to see if you have an internet connection. If you still don't have an internet connection you may need to restart your computer.
  8. You may need to open up the Web-based Setup page from your PC. Open up your browser and go to http://192.168.1.1/ -- this is your router's default IP address. You may be prompted for an administrator login. The default username and password are "admin" and "admin". Go to status, and release or renew the DHCP until you get an IP address from your Internet Service Provider.
  9. If the web interface fails, try going to the command prompt on your PC and typing "arp -a". This should return a list of router and computer addresses on the local network. For example, one LinkSys router turned out to be at 192.168.0.1

I have this WRT54G set with DHCP Enabled to allow

to use two routers like this you will need to set the wrt54g as a repeater and disable dhcp, why do you want to only allow the two computers? why dont you just enable mac filtering and use the mac address of both of the computers to allow it.

The easiest way for you to sort this is to explain what you want it to do, rather than what you have done?

How to change password

to change the password, assuming you have not changed the default administration passwords point your browser to "192.168.1.1" Once there you should have a login screen. linksys default is "administrator" AND "admin" as the username and password. Here you should have access to the full control panel. You can change the wireless password as well as any other settings.

I have a WT54g Linksys Wireless G Broadband

You may be able to view th eexisting SSID and key by loggin into the router's web interface. You can do that by entering the IP address of the router into the address bar of your web browser of choice (it's usally http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1) If it asks for a login, it's usually "admin" and "admin" for the username and password. From there you can look for the wireless settings and get the SSID and password that way (or if it doesn't display the password, you can at least change it to something you do know.)

I have a CISCO Basic Wireless Router. Can this

The router is capable of at least Wireless B (11MB) and possibly Wireless G (54MB) or Wireless N standard speeds. The HP Photosmart will do at least Wireless B speeds (and depending on which model - even possibly the faster "G" or "N" standards, too), so yes; it can be connected wirelessly.

You'll have to set up the the HP Photosmart printer the same way you set up other wireless devices to connect to the router. You'll need to input the SSID, Security Encryption Type (WEP or WPA) and associated security "Key" to match those settings that are in the router.

If you can't remember those settings, or never set up the wireless options, you'll have to access the Cisco Router's built in web set up page. Since you didn't include your particular model number, you'll have to look up this info at Cisco's web site yourself.

If you have trouble, include the model of your router and I'll see what additional info I can get for you.

Cannot get a network connection using my linksys

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.
