In the UK, work on gas appliances can only be done by a Corgi Registered installer / technician. As you have a dead short, you can also call an electrician.
Impossible to answer as no one knows what this 'unit' is. All questions on Fixya need 'make model (what it is)' as the first three words. I will take guesses though. Then you have over 10,000 categories to choose from listed by 'make model. E1 Error is used in many items, washing machines, dryers, fridges, dishwashers and even mobility scooters. Perhaps it is this as you posted to 'Heating and Cooling'? The E1 error code is an AUTO-STOP PROTECTION indicating a short or open circuit in the indoor pipe sensor. Try unplugging the unit and waiting 2 minutes for the power to discharge. Then plug the unit back in.Apr 25, 2023 LG Air Conditioner - Understanding E1, E2, or E3 Error Codes ..Videos just for fun!
Question edited for clarity, it is a 'Quietside' not a 'Quieside'.
Turn it off at the breaker overnight. This will reset the control board and all the relays. You really don't need Fan Model overnight, but if you think you do, you could try disconnecting power for 2 hours.

All A/C have a built in defrost drain and that should take away condensate from the evaporator coils during the defrost cycle.. If all the cold pipes have insulation on them, there should be no sweating. If it only started sweating for the last 2 years, you may have deterioration to the pipe insulation, or damage from critters.
