I have a Gohanz sampo

Serial ports are not meant for video only data communications if it is VGA port then your fine but the red white and yellow RCA connections are what you should be using this cable can be picked up at any local radio shack or walmart pretty cheap. As for the computer if the tv has a vga port connect it by that these vga are also cheap and can be found at radio shack or staples.

Need universal remote control code for maxent 42" plasma tv?

I hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, or if you have any other questions, here are the codes and some simple steps to run through.

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

Please tell me about power supply problem and

The power supply for HDTV is the board where the AC plug goes into. It is a very sensitive circuitry that can be easily damaged. Under normal circumstance it is very reliable. This is how they work basically. The AC current is rectified (converted into DC). Then filtered by means of large capacitors. The DC Voltage ( about 180 DC volts from 120 AC) is supplied to power transistors (usually FET or field effect transistor). The Transistor are switched at high frequency( usually over 100KHZ or 100,000 times per second) Which drives the transformers to step down the voltage. When the TV is off there is a standby voltage which is on at all times, and it is typically 5V. This standby voltage is the first thing a technician check for when troubleshooting power supply problem. When the TV is turned on everything in the power supply comes to life supplying power to every circuit boards which are of diffrent voltages such 12V, 24V etc. HDTV power supplies are very complicated using the latest technology employing power saving chips that minimize power usage on standby mode. Explaining the it in great detail would require many pages but this is just the basic.

Unable to hook up my ''Dish'' cable to the TV

If the cable comes from the dish, then unless you have a freesat tv that will not connect into your tv.The cable from a dish normaly connects into a sky box or cable box.You need a cable from an aerial to connect into the tv.

Got a 42 sampo plasma tc, no picture

Howzit Brother.

I had the same problem, but managed to repair it myself! There is no need to purchase a new
Power Supply! You can service the faulty PCB yourself, or give it to a Tehnician to service for you.
If you want to try service to yourself, here is how,

On the PCB marked QPWB11326-1B-4 you will need to do the following<

Replace the following Capacitor's, CS704(Most important one), CS705, CS706, CS707, CS708, CS713, CS715.
Replace the TOP210PFI IC marked ICS02
Replace the PC123 OPTO marked ICS03
Replace the TL431 Shunt Regulator marked ICS04

This solution should work! email me on [email protected] if you have any other requests!

Have a 42" Sampo plazma

Hi,

Before we proceed, i would like to share few details. The life of plasma totally depends on the usage. For a normal user it is anywhere between 10 - 14 years. There are few people who have actually used it for even more years depending upon usage and care. However, as i have no idea whether you have sparingly used it or the condition, so i would take an average life span. So, as a normal user you are left with less than 4 years before you would see other parts worn out. These are made in such a way that they mostly require replacement than repair, so cost is always a factor before getting them repaired. There is a thumb rule - when the cost of the repair is more than half the amount of the product, buy a new one.If are experience in electronics, could read schematics and would be able keep precautions, then it's different - you could save labor cost. Unless it is better to replace it.

I am sure you must have checked all the connections to make sure there is no lose connection. As unplugging didn't help you, there could be few causes ranging from digital board, sustain boards and few more. The more probable cause is driver board failing. If you call a tech, it would be an expensive deal taking into consideration the cost of the new plasma TV's and age of the TV.

Note - As i cannot diagnose the TV, this information is purely based on what i saw on most occasions on the basis of the description you gave.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

You can try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works.. this not work check the cable try yo use another pair of cables ,even this did solve your problem then you need contact the company if under warranty ,if its out of warranty then you need get service from local TV repair center....
