I would take to a local car parts to see if they would read the code,, also depending on when the car was purchased and what the PO has done, might be a good time to take it to a qualified garage and get stuff checked out,. Most people do not look at their cars manual nor do they do the manuals service recommendation.

sorry !! do you mean key won't turn or key turns but vehicle wont start? key won't turn ;- barel requires re coding ie key or barel worn. key turns but won't start;- depending on year of vehicle and type of remote, have you changed the remote battery, did car start before? some remote casings carry a very small chip inside. The vehicle immobiliser reads this chip to authenticate correct key is being used. This chip is not fixed but sits in a small cavity in the remote case they sometimes fall out if not aware of this you would not notice any difference when reasembling the remote. vehicle will not crank or start

disconnect the battery for five minutes it may reset its self

Hello, i have seen this problem on my car before when ever the battery got disconected or gone dead. stereo antitheft loc is on and some times if you try to put to many wrong codes in unsucsesfully i had to turn key on for one hour and then the correct code entered.its usually in owners manual under anti-theft stereo loc.they should have wrote the code in there manualy when the car was new.i took mine to a car audio dealer and got the code from a couple of digets that showed up on the radio when he held on to two buttons at the same time and called for the codes that were programed in.this is just a helpfull guide to a related problem i had in a grand prix i bought used and put a new battery in and had no code.i live in louisville ky. and went to a after market dealer on dixie hwy. and it costed about 60 dollars.but since i tryed the wrong code more than three times he had to leave the ignition on for an hour before it would unlock.it worked and i wrote the code down.its usually a 3-4 number code.

Check remote computer fuses.

Try putting your key in the ignition and turning the car on then pressing the button and it should work again! this worked for me :) good luck!

To add a transmitter on an AstrostartTM Remote Car Starter, follow the
following steps:
• Open the hood
• Turn the key to the ON position
• Push and release the brake pedal
• Cycle the ignition OFF - ON – OFF – ON – OFF. Warning! At the end, the key
should end at OFF. If sequence is made successfully, the parking light will
blink 4 times.
• Push any button on the transmitter to enter in learning mode and the parking
lights will flash 1 time. Repeat the same sequence for any additional
transmitter that needs to be learned in the system.
• Push the brake pedal once

If,for example,your code is 2345 press button 1 twice,2tree times and ect.Finnish with button 5 to enter code

Depends on alarm fitted if fob is part of ignition key try std programming.
Sit in car with doors closed put key in ignition turn to 1st position.
Turn on and back to 1st position 4 times within 20 secs you should hear a beep if you do press any button on fob within 10 secs .you should now hear a confirmation beep. (NB dont remove key and dont start engine just turn to position 2.)
Can,t guarantee this but it's worth a try.

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc) 
 
To see if your code is available here  for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

Otherwise try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive
