Not working

Is it an electret condenser type then it needs a battery in the shell. The body normally can be screwed open to expose the compartment. Otherwise if it is dynamic make sure it does not need a "Phantom" supply from your mixer. Is it a balanced mic then some of them need a transformer so without seeing it and do tests this is all I can offer

Microphone will not hook into computer

What is on each end of the microphone cable in its original form? What's the model of microphone? You need a cable that ultimately (probably need an adapter or two) would have the LO-Z (assuming its a low impedence mic) connector for the microphone on one end and the mini phone plug on the other. If the microphone is low impedance, which most good microphones would be, you will need an impedance matching transformer to convert to high impedance which the computer mic input would expect. That would have a 1/4 inch phone plug output which then needs to be brought down in size to fit the computer mic input. A music store would be your best bet for the required pieces.

I got a Samson R31S

It can be software issue. The audio software is not installed or if its installed, its got corrupted.Reinstall the audio software in your system,.Then try.It will detect the microphone and you will get sound.-----Also it can be possible, that settings are not perfect and this is causing the problem. 1) Unplug your external mic .
2) Open volume control .
3) Switch it to recording control (menu options/properties/recording)
4) There are few columns (internal mic, external mic, line in ...) each with checkbox at the bottom and one and only one checkbox is with tick .
5) After plug-in your mic tick moves from iternal to line-in and this is wrong, you need to have tick on external mic. Tick could be set manually but ext. mic .
6) So select external.mic and select ok.Then check. ------------ If still the same problem is there, then re-check if the tick is got moved from external mic to any other option. If its got moved, that this is the problem.-------- In some cases, the ext. mic tick gets moved and this procedure has helped. Do plug-in of ext. mic very slowly!! Try that and system will move tick to ext. mic when just half of jack is inside that's it, once it gets set,now you can put your jack fully and it should work correctly. -------------- Go into the sound preferences menu, hardware tab, at the bottom there a section called settings for the selected device. If its set to an output only setting (hence no microphone input). Then this can cause problem.Set to mic -input setting. This will also help.------ ------------- But if its sound/ audio driver issue, then re-installing the sound/audio software is advisable. To get drivers if you dont have installation cd, you can download it from dell site or you can contact dell to send you exact driver for your pc.----------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I purchased a R31S Samson

A dynamic mic connected to the your computer's mic jack is an analog connection. So your computer won't give a notification that there's a mic connected. However, you can view input levels through the default windows mixer of your sound card or any program or application installed on your computer that has the capability. Had it been connected through usb or firewire, it would be digital and you wold be notified that the device had been detected via device drivers etc.
Hope this helps

I am trying to hook

Using a microphone with computer

To use any microphone with your computer you will need to enable it in control panel. The following instructions are for Windows XP but are broadly similar for Vista and Win7

Click START, CONTROL PANEL, SOUNDS & AUDIO DEVICES

Click VOICE

In Sounds & Audio Devices Properties window locate SOUND PLAYBACK box. Click the VOLUME button. Make sure that there is not a check-mark in the MUTE box against microphone in the list of devices and that the volume slider is at the top of the scale.

Make sure the MUTE ALL box isn't checked before closing the window.

Now click the VOLUME button in the SOUND RECORDING BOX. Here SELECT microphone as an input source for recording (as opposed to un-checking mute in the playback controls).

NOTE if your microphone is not listed in the 2 sets of volume controls click OPTIONS, PROPERTIES on the tool-bar and place a check against microphone in the list entitled 'show the following volume controls' and then click OK. Same applies for Internal mic.

That should be it.

To adjust audio volume generally.

Under VOLUME tab adjust Device Volume as necessary. Also (under Loudpeaker Settings) click Speaker Volume and adjust slider to suit.

You might put a check mark in the box to show the volume control on the Task Bar so you can go straight to it to make adjustments in the future.

Samson airline cr 77 receiver has no output

There could be several reasons why your Samson Airline CR77 receiver is not producing any output:
  1. Volume levels: Ensure that the volume levels on the receiver are turned up and not muted.
  2. Output mode: Check if the output mode on the receiver is set to the correct mode (balanced or unbalanced).
  3. Cables: Make sure that the cables used to connect the receiver to the sound board are functioning properly and are plugged in correctly.
  4. Interference: Check if there is any interference from other wireless devices operating in the vicinity. This can cause signal dropouts and affect the receiver's output.
  5. Dead batteries: Check if the batteries in the receiver are charged or need to be replaced. A low battery can cause a drop in output.
If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Samson's customer support for further assistance or consider taking it to a professional technician for repair.

I have Samson UHF cr77( chanel N2) i want know what microphone can use

Any that can plug into the unit. The quality of the sound will depend on what you are willing to pay for the microphone. I would take the unit to a shop that sells microphones and they will be able to get you a right one for the unit.
