Locate pins on dial: move 10 pins in a row. This will be for testing purpose.
Plug timer into outlet located on kitchen counter-top so you can see what is happening.
Turn lamp on. Plug lamp into timer.
Manually rotate dial clockwise and watch when lamp turns on-off.
This will tell you how to position the pins.
Most of these timers have a slide-switch.
Move the slide-switch one direction and then the other.
Manually rotate dial each time and see which way slide-switch should be positioned.
Set pins for on and off times.
Dark background is pm. Light background is am hours.
Final step is to set current time. Manually rotate dial until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
As time passes, the dial rotates, and the pins click a lever that turns lamp on-and-off
