I can't get the faucet

The faucet should have come with a rubber gasket which goes between the faucet body and the granite top. Make sure it's properly aligned and has not slipped out of place. Be carefull when tightening the faucet to the granite, since granite is easily cracked.

I installed my 1222B moen cartridge but wont go all the way in so I can insert the clip. pls help

For my 20 year old Moen 1222, I found the outer O-ring supplied with the OEM part was slightly too large to overcome the beveled brass edge near where the key fits. I reused the old, failed part's O-ring and it went in fine. If you do this method, you should check for leaks prior to restoring. I find Moen is not my preferred supplier of choice for plumbing fixtures.

I replaced a 96909 cartridge with a Moen 1222 cartridge. Now the handle work incorrectly- never pointing to off, when off.

It sounds like the 1222 cartridge is not compatible with your faucet. You may need to replace the cartridge with the correct one for your faucet. If you are unsure of the correct cartridge, you can contact Moen directly for assistance.

We can't turn off water to tank with new Moen replacement kit # 5305. Need to turn off manually.

Sounds like your replacement kit is missing a part or not installed properly. Could be a washer not in place or a valve not working properly.

Why did my Moen 3838 Castleby Four Function Showerhead suddenly start gushing water from the base when in shower mode?

There could be several reasons why your Moen 3838 Castlebar Four Function Showerhead is suddenly gushing water from the base when in shower mode. Some possible causes include:
  1. Clogged showerhead: If the showerhead is clogged with mineral buildup or debris, water may not be able to pass through properly, causing it to gush out of the base.
  2. Leaky diverter valve: The diverter valve is responsible for directing water to the showerhead. If it is damaged or worn, water may leak out of the base of the showerhead.
  3. Damaged showerhead: If the showerhead itself is damaged, water may be able to leak out of the base.
  4. Incorrect installation: If the showerhead was not installed properly, water may leak out of the base.
  5. Loose or damaged O-ring: An O-ring is a small ring that seals the connection between the showerhead and the water supply. If the O-ring is missing or damaged, water may leak out of the base.
It is best to check the instruction manual and troubleshoot the issue or contact Moen support if needed. If the issue is not resolved by troubleshooting, it may be best to consult a plumber or contact Moen support for further assistance.

Pulled a moen 96909 and replaced with a 1222. the 1222 does not go in the bore far enough to put the clip back in.

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the installation of the Moen 1222 cartridge in your faucet. The Moen 1222 cartridge is designed to be a direct replacement for the Moen 96909 cartridge, so it should fit in the same way. If the 1222 cartridge is not going in far enough for you to reinstall the clip, there may be a problem with the cartridge or with the faucet itself.

Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Make sure the cartridge is oriented correctly: The Moen 1222 cartridge has a specific orientation that it must be installed in to work properly. Make sure that the cartridge is oriented correctly and that the stem is facing the right direction.

Check for any obstructions: Make sure that there are no obstructions in the bore or in the faucet that could be preventing the cartridge from being fully seated.

Make sure the faucet is properly disassembled: If the faucet was not properly disassembled before installing the new cartridge, it may not be seated correctly. Make sure that all of the internal parts of the faucet have been removed before attempting to install the new cartridge.

If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to seek the assistance of a professional plumber. It is also possible that the Moen 1222 cartridge is defective, in which case you may need to return it for a replacement.

Hot water coming out of tub slow

Two possible options i can think of. 1) the hot water valve at the hot water tank is partially closed. look for a lever that can be opened fully. the valve could have become faulty. 2) a copper line from the tank to the faucet might be bent somewhere in the middle

How do I find out what replacement cartridge I need for and existing moen leaking single handle shower faucet

When the Moen faucet was installed, they included a small sticker with the make and model of it for obtaining spares. You stick that somewhere under your sink like mine is :>) If you take out the cartridge and take it to home Depot or Lowes, that keep all the spares. Lowes used to give you the parts from free. there are only 4 types! https://www.h2ouse.org/which-moen-cartridge-do-i-need/ https://www.google.com/search?q=moen+shower+faucet+cartridge+replacement

Best way to clean a moen shower head

https://www.google.com suggests the following link: https://www.hunker.com/12267493/how-to-clean-a-moen-shower-head Quoting from link above: How to Clean a Moen Shower Head By BRENDAN O'BRIEN Photos.com/Getty images Taking a shower could be hazardous to your health if you do not properly and regularly clean your shower head. According to a study at the University of Colorado at Bolder, your shower head may contain harmful bacteria. But not to worry, with some old-fashion vinegar, elbow grease and about 45 minutes, you can take a shower with peace of mind. Clean a Moen shower head while it is still attached, or remove it before cleaning.
  • Volume 0%Detached Shower Head Step 1 Remove the Moen shower head. This may require pliers or vice grips. If you use tools, place a towel or rag over the shower head to protect it from scratches and dents. Step 2 Remove the cover of the shower head, if there is one. The cover may twist or snap off. Do not force it if it seems stuck. This is not a requirement. You can clean the shower head with still attached. Step 3 Warm the white vinegar on your stove. Do not boil the vinegar. Gauge how much vinegar you will need by the size of your Moen shower head. You need to fully submerge the shower head in the vinegar. Step 4 Pour the warm white vinegar in a bowl or bucket. Place the shower head in the bowl and submerge it in the white vinegar. Let it soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Step 5 Clear the holes in the shower head with a paperclip or thin wire. Clear all of the debris from the holes. Dunk and rinse the shower head back in the vinegar. Step 6 Rinse the shower head and cover with hot water. Re-install the Moen shower head and cover. Test the shower to make sure you have re-installed it properly. Attached Shower Head Step 1 Fill a plastic bag with warm white vinegar. Step 2 Place the bag over the Moen shower head so it is complete submerged in the warm vinegar. Place a rubber band or piece of tape around the stem, securing the bag to the shower head. Step 3 Remove after 15 to 20 minutes. Take an old toothbrush and scrub off the mineral deposits and debris. Rinse off the shower head thoroughly with hot water and a wet cloth. Brendan O'Brien

Put in a new moen cartridge in shower and it drips and I have no pressure and the handle is loose

Sounds like your cartridge is not properly seated and also may not be aligned properly. Remove it and apply a thin coating of plumbers grease to the cartridge and then work it back into it's position rotating back and forth to insure it is going down all the way.
