20 Most Recent Hitachi PJTX100 Multimedia Projector Questions & Answers

Hi Mario

If there is no response on the Projector it normally means that the Mainboard is faulty.

Check if your machine is still under warranty because this quite expensive to replace.

As far as the schematics are concerned - I'm unfortunately not able to help you out with that.

Hi, I am not familiar with that model, But usually if you go into the settings menu you will see settings for the display which may be under "Display" "Rotate" "Keystone" "Flip" That model is made to be mounted upside down so somewhere in the menu there will be a setting similar to those I mentioned that will flip the image.

Hope that helps, Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

There is an option in the setup menus to re-orientate the picture, to flip it either vertically, horizontally or both to correct for the various installation options. You should be able to correct it quite easily :o)

I assume the projectors are of similar age and have similar useage history? Not certain why they would fail together, but the most probable cause is faulty switch mode power supplies. The electrolytic capacitors in these supplies a relatively short working life, especially when installed in high temperature environments - like a video projector. new caps in the supplies may be all that's required to solve the issue. If you have other similar projectors, they may well be approaching the same problem. Any reasonably competent TV repair tech should be able to check the supplies for you, and repair them if found faulty :o)

when you use menu, setup, mirror does it change on the screen, or is the red always on one side

Hitachi PJTX100... • Answered on Mar 04, 2011

If you are using a component video cable (Red, Green, Blue) you may simply be missing the Red cable. It may not be fully plugged in.
You can verify that this is the case by: 1. Unplugging all video cables 2. Plug in the green cable, you should see a black and white image. 3. Plug in the blue cable, you should see some colours coming through. 4. Plug in the red cable, you should see all colours properly.
If not, unplug the blue and red cables and plug the blue cable into the red port. The colours will look incorrect, skin tones will be blue. If the colour comes through the problem is the cable. If the colour does not come through, the problem may be the projector.

Unfortunately, the value of projectors drop quickly after the production run ends. You will most likely find that the price of the blue prism will be higher than a comparibe working projector of the same model on ebay. I have a Panasonic PT-AE 900U, 1100 lumens 720P 5500 contrast. To replace the main board (if you can find it) cost over $700 from a supplier. The same projector used are going for $300 - $500 in working condition on ebay. I just bought another one and it gets a great picture plus I have a second bulb as a backup with a few hundred hours left on it. I still haven't thrown away the ailing projector in hopes of someday finding a cheap one for sale with a good mainboard and a problem else where. Now I can afford to wait for one to become available.

Hope this helps,

have you solved the "clicking noise" problem yet?

i think i have the same problem with my pj-tx300.

Thx in advance for your answer. :)

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "the bulb comes on" but i can answer your other questions.

1. A clicking sound made by the fans is usually caused by a cable obstructing the fans, you should first try using some computer duster (canned air) to clear the blockage, if that doesn't work you can take it to someone who fixes projectors or you can open the case yourself and move the cables out of the way.

2. The projector turning off on its own could be caused by overheating. This can happen if you leave it turned on for too long. I would not attempt to correct this your self, as i don't have enough information to be sure about this, too fix this you should ask the manufacturer to replace it or take it to a professional.
