Tyan Thunder LE-T S2518GN Motherboard Questions & Answers
My motherboard (Tyan Thunder LE-T S2518) simply
first thing to check would be the CMOS jumper to make sure it's in not in reset mode. You'll probably find it near the battery on the motherboard. If it is in "normal" mode (or jumped across the right two pins) then you may want to check the battery itself. That's the easiest and quickest thing to check.
Secondly, do you get any beeps from the mobo when you turn it on? If not, and it's not your cmos jumper/batter, you may have a badly seated CPU or heat sync, OR a bad CPU all together. If you don't know a lot about cpu's and reseating them, you should bring it in to a tech to have that looked at. Otherwise, if you know what you're doing, I'd pull the heatsync/fan off the CPU, clean off the old thermal paste, put new on (use it lightly), and reseat it all. Then see what happens.

How do i reset the password on a Tyan m3296 SMDC
contact Tyan and request support, just say that the hardware was in a machine you were given. It might be that that there is a generic password built int the firmware. Such a practice is common on most electronic equipment, hope you are lucky. Otherwise look for an answer on Tyan forums or Tom's Hardware

Is this a bios error code onthe onbaord diagnostics?
As this is a server board be careful - reset the bios to defaults is the first step in solving motherboard issues.
Remove all cards and begin testing - remove all ram chips except one and test replacing stepwise until you have isolated the issue - usually the bios error code is the last item to pass before failure.
Looks like it could be DMA controller failure but you would need the manual for the board to be sure.
Code e1 on a s2668
It is a bridge initilization error according to the manual. I would try removing the memory and just use 1 module and see what happens. If that doesn't work, try pulling other components, including the video card to see if you can isolate the problem.

My Employer Says They Are Going To Cut My Wages. Can They?
If you are in the middle of a contract, then cutting your wages is almost certainly a violation of your employment law rights. While I am by no means an expert on this matter, I did have a similar issue years ago - mid-contract wage cuts - and I hired an
employment attorney to fight the case on my behalf. It turned out that my employer was basically looking to scare people into taking the wage cut.
They got into some pretty serious legal trouble for their transgression, and nothing happened to me in terms of wage cuts after that. If you are between contracts, your employer can re-negotiate your salary, but as far as I am aware, if you are in an agreed-upon contract, they cannot just decide to reduce your salary. If you want to settle matters, contest this action with support from a legal professional.
