Hello bzgoodsbl, When I encounter a product such as your Timex 5E681... Knowing absolutely nothing about modern TIMEX or ... But being an ACCOMPLISHED amateur horologist (clock, watch, licensed radioman and admirer of John Harrison)... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Harrison >> I looked your "IRONMAN" up... - inexpensive (Amazon) - Very Popular 4/5 STARs - Easy to read instructions Just my own observation here: Before I would hand any TIMEPIECE I ever cared about... over to some PIZZA-FACED **** at the corner **** store... I would seriously consider spending a few dollarson some WATHMAKERS tools and opening the device myself... As soon as AN UNAUTHORIZED person opens your "IRONMAN" the warranty is VOID. Just know your options. NEW = Send it back (do it now). https://www.timex.com/returns-exchanges.html

this is the manual for it ..look from the 13th page down ..and it is described how to start the hearth monitoring ..The idea is to be sure the icon for this function do not blink ..cause when it does it indicates malfunction ..Also the correct functionality is direct related with the sensor..and if this one is faulty it may not work ..The rest ..is probably just need to be activated..and it is explained in the manual about how to do it ..

Just replaced battery in RSS210...now ony the set

How old is the watch? The buttons could have a build up of dirt around the buttons and that will keep them from working! If thats the case you can take a pin or a very thin screwdriver and run it around the botton to unclog the build up...or you can also take it to a reputable watch repair shop and they can disassemble the watch and remove the buttons and clean it really well.

Its also possible that the watch wasnt assembled correctly when it was closed after the battery change as well. Some movements have a small metal flap that the buttons push against to work the functions. If the flaps get moved then the button might be pushed in and stuck since the flap doesnt push the button back out...OR...there is a tiny little c-clip that holds the button in place and if thats removed then the button might not push back out or could come out of the case all together!

So...check around the button for a build up of dirt first, try removing the dirt with a pin or small screwdriver. If the button comes out then put it in a plastic bag along with the watch so you dont get any moisture inside and take it to a reputable watch repair shop! :-)

Good luck!

2017 Timex Ironman GPS watch. Where can I buy a replacement battery for it?

It's not that old, did you ask them direct? Servicing is their responsibility normally for at least 10 years. I can't find a battery with three wires either. The Garmin watches have a circular wired battery but only 2 wires.

Need to set just the time on a timex WR100M mens watch

SETTING
  1. First, find the regular time mode by pressing the MODE button until the time (with the date at the top) shows.
  2. Press & hold the SET button until the word ENTER disappears and is replaced by the word TIME. Release that button. You'll notice that at the top of the display, the words SET T1 or SET - T2. This is where you select between setting the 1st time zone or the 2nd time zone. Select between T1 or T2 by pressing the RECALL button or the STOP/RESET button.
  3. Press either the MODE or the START/SPLIT button. You'll notice that whatever is blinking is what you can change. You can make the changes by pressing either the RECALL or the STOP/RESET button. You can change the Seconds, the Hours, the Minutes, the Month, the Date, the Year, and choose between 12 hour (civilian) or 24 hour (military) time. If you keep MODE or START/SPLIT button, you will go through all the things you can change and start again at the beginning. The START/SPLIT button goes through these things forward, and the MODE goes through the backwards, so if you pass something and want to back up, just switch buttons. In the same way, the RECALL changes things by making them larger, and STOP/RESET changes them by making them smaller, so if you accidentally pass the number you're trying to set it to, just switch to the other button and go back.
EXAMPLE OF SETTING THE WATCH Suppose you want to set the hours and the date in the 2nd Time Zone. (Just as an example, but setting any other time or date settings would be the same.)
  1. Press the lower left button on the side (MODE) until you see the date & time.
  2. Press & hold the lower right button on the side (SET) until the word TIME appears on the display, then release it.
  3. If SET T1 is showing, then press & release the upper right button on the side (RECALL) to change it to T2 (because we're wanting to set the 2nd Time Zone we'd leave this unchanged if we wanted to set the 1st time zone, T1.)
  4. Press & release the lower right button on the face (START/SPLIT) twice, skipping the seconds. You should see the hours flashing.
  5. Press & release the upper right button on the side (RECALL) repeatedly until you have the hours position set to what you want it to be. If you pass the hour you want, go to the lower left button on the face (STOP/RESET) and press & release it to back up.
  6. Press & release the lower right button on the face (START/SPLIT) three times, skipping minutes and months, so that the date begins flashing. Press the RECALL button until you have the date you want. (You can go backwards by pressing the STOP/RESET.)
  7. When you're done, and you've set everything you want to, press & release the SET button once to tell the watch you're through setting and to lock those settings in.

The trade calls this a crystal, even though it mostly is not. Replacement is generally a watchmaker job, as the movement has to come out, and some uncommon tools are needed. Get a quote or 3 http://www.ehow.com/how_7893397_repair-crystal-timex-ironman-watch.html
