I have the TX-DS474 Onkyo
The sensor itself wouldn't cost much to do it yourself if you can find the part. I would say if you do take it into a shop, I'm certain that it will be minimum of 100.00.
Onkyo tx-ds 474
press and hold the video 1 button and then press the speaker A button - you should see 'clear' on the display. This will reset everything
I would like to connect onkyo TX-DS474 to my
you will need a Analog audio cable (RCA) connect one end to Game/TV on the back of the onkyo and the other end to the TV audio out then just press the game button on the front of the onkyo you my have to go into the menu on the av to set the Analog out-put for game/
TX-DS474 settings clear when power is switched off
That's what the standby button is for. The "master power" button should only be turned off if you are going to be out of town for months at a time. If you use a good surge protection unit like monster or panamax, there is no reason to turn off the master power. It only draws about 200milliamps of current to keep its memory. About as much as a clock radio when its off. Hope this helps
Sound disappears when channel is changed
try connect a rca cables to ensure sound , the tv has scart port or audio output rca? the digital input on receiver is non priority level, so every time you change chanell the receiver jumps to next Line input present. (receiver output security)
Right channel is out
please confirm that connection between your receiver and front speaker is ok(every thing is connected in right place no open cables.
please do setting again and make sure that front speakers are on.

Have power but no sound
I would guess that the unit is in "protect" mode. listen carefully when you turn on the receiver. You should hear a click followed shortly thereafter by another. If you do not hear the second one, the unit is in protect. This means that a problme has been detected in the output amplifier section and hte receiver will disable it to prevent further damage. The typical problem is shorted output transistors. Expect a parts cost of $12-$25. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost.
