Audio connections between Onkyo TX-DS575 and Sony DVD DVP-NS77H

If you are using digital optical or digital coaial and getting sound on regular 5.1 dvd's your conections are fine. With sony players you have to get into the setup menu and turn DTS "ON" in the audio sub-menu. For some reason they default it to "off".

Onkyo TX-DS575 turns off after about 10 min.

it could be a failing speaker causing the fault. Disconnect one speaker and run it to see if the problem persists and repeat with a different speaker until all speakers have been disconnected and the unit run to failure. If it stays ok, with a particular spkr off, it's the speaker. If it shuts down no matter which ones disconnected, it's probably a crack on the PCB which expands as it heats and causes shutdown.

TX-DS575 reciever

Normally you hear a clicking sound coming from the inside when you turn on your amp. That's the sound of the magnetic circuit breaker (switch). If you tap your amp to turn it on, and if the amp gets turned on after you did it:), then I suppose the problem is on the relevant switch.

TX-DS575 reverts back to standby mode when turned on

You can find it out by yourself. I have the same device; therefore, I know that this device has a "test" function. Just unplug rear (surround) speakers at first, then test the rest of the speakers if the amp lets you do it. Hook up one of the rear speakers you regularly use to rear left or to rear right in order to test each rear channel. If one of them turns off the amp, you'll be able to understand which side feeding resistor does not work. However, if the amp goes to standby mode as soon as you hook up one of those speakers, you can alternatively invert the relevant rear speaker's input ports for a while. (+ to -, - to +) Don't forget that you have to hook up the other rear likewise. This will allow you to cheat your amp for a while, and let you test your channels without taking care of ohms.

Lost right channel of CD

This service manual is available here http://www.manualscenter.com/onkyo-c-74.html?page=14&sort=2a. The cost is 10 bucks or 15 bucks, depending on if there is an X at the end of this model number or not.You will need to check the final output stage for an open circuit, possibly a shorted output device or a drive IC or transistor. First open this unit and make sure there are no open channel output fuses. Some models have these. Not sure about this model. Good Luck

cpu mpd720208 send comand -mute- all the time pin 42 AMUT. if you cut this wire, after receiver is on, saund appiar. this is not right, but this work. if you cut this wire in off condition, receiver dont on. i dont find the rison of this, but i think some input voltage for CPU is on the edge. or on-delay cicuits dont work properly.

Onkyo receiver

It sure dosent sound good!! The clicking sound you here are the protection relays to assist in protecting your speakers from blowing out. Your output devices are shorted it sounds like. Do not ever ever attemp to jump out those relays as it will burn out your speakers and possibly burn down your house!. Theres alot of current inthese amps for high power so if your not a tech and you think its worth it take the unit in to be looked at as there are no serviceable user parts inside these units . Sorry to have to tell ya this.. Good Luck

More power

.70 WATTS MINIMUM of continuous RMS power to each of the five channels into 8W from 20 Hz to 20 kHz . If this unit wont drive your sub then somethings wrong with it or the subs as I got these specs from the owners manual. Now your aware you will not really hear per say all the bass from your sub but will feel like yuou do. I have had peeps that wanna hear the thump down to your bones but thats the problem you wont unless your drive the subs way way up.Your true norm bass is from your front and rear left and right for the normal hearing range. I hope you understand what im trying to say here. And no there is no modification per say to increase the output and this amp IS NOT made to be bridged. Good luck

The surround speakers are connected to my Onkyo TX DS575X but no sound is coming from them. Same with the center. Any ideas?

There will be no sound unless a Dolby Pro Logic or similar audio signal is in use. CD/DVD, broadcast etc.

If you want to DIY, send an email to me at . This email will be deleted after 1 week. It is a very commonfaulty found in onkyo av-amp, very easy to get fixed, however. I won‘t tell you here. Why? I buy faulty av-amp to repair, selling them on the web!.3_31_2020_7_49_47_am.jpg
