You reset the router. that means router is set on factory default.settings has been changed now that's why connection manager is not responding properly. Now you have the run setup CD and set the router again.

You need to set up port forwarding for the ports you're planing on using.

You can also configure it with below method.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. Then click on WAN settings set it as your internet service provider settings enable DHCP Then click on wireless and enable it. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. you might have put in the wrong password or user id check to make sure you have put these in correctly first make sure the caps lock is on/off what ever applies to your user and password id that you provided to your ISP also make sure your routers settings are correct ie:password user name,firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online hope this helps

I searched the user manual, and it does not specify. Try leavng it blank or try Admin.
If it was bought used, it may have old old info in it preventing your access.
Use the recessed reset button next to the power input to restore to factory settings. Hold for about 10 seconds then power off then on.

Sounds like a firewall issue on the computer that you are trying to RDP/VPN from, or possibly that these services have not been allowed through the routers firewall.

Log on to the routers web configuration page, and see if there is the option to allow these services through.

Please try the following steps below;

To make a router connection to Xbox LIVE:

1. Before you connect any cables, turn off your router, modem, PC, and Xbox 360 console. (Unplug your modem from its power source to turn it off.)
2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to the Ethernet input port on the back of your router.

7. Turn on your Xbox 360 console and sign in with your profile.

If you're unable to connect to Xbox LIVE, you can try to diagnose the problem right on your console. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings, then select Network Settings (setup XBOX using Automatic Configuration DHCP), Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Turn the router off, unplug it completely for 10 - 15 mins, then replug and turn on. If the problem is still present, press the reset button (small small hole, may require a needle) for 5 - 10 seconds if needed then follow the first step.

That wont help either!!!!!!
What you can try is .....try once more to update firmware in case you still get that same message.Please get in touch with technical support of Netopia ask them to update your firmware

What is the operating system on the computrer ?
If it is Windows XP Sp1 then it will not support the WPA.
You can change the security to WEP.
Or you can update the Operating system to XP- SP2
Make sure that you are using the correct password while connecting to the network

Try this and see if it works for you. Telnet into the modem. Hyperterminal will work fine for this.
Type config, then hit the enter key.
Type set, then hit the enter key.
At this point look at your monitor. Does the bottom line look like this?:
autoConfig (on) [ off | on ]:
If so, type off. Then hold the enter key down for several seconds untill you get to lines that look like this:
Netopia-3000/xxxxxxxx (top)>>
Then type save and hit the enter key.
When the screen says that the configuration data has been saved, type exit and hit the enter key. Then type restart and hit the enter key. When the modem restarts close hyperterminal and access the Netopia using your web browser.

Hello,
With each new router comes a new WEP KEY by default this could be found normally on the back of the router/access point near the bar code it should have something like this:
SSID: XXXXXXXX WEP KEY: XXXXXXX
If you don't find this sticker or don't have it just reset the router or connect by cable go to the web interface and copy or change the WEP Key there defined.

you can make the lan ips what ever you want them to be. The way you get thru firewalls, which on the router is NAT, is to set up mapping from your WAN ip to the LAN one you creat.

if you are saying instead, that you put the netopia in bridgemode, and are passing all the ips thru the router to the Check Point firewall you have set up behind it, then you need to configure your firewall correctly.

Can you ping them, there may be a type of firewall that is blocking that traffic on the netopia router. Try and ping between computers and see what you have any comminication.

on the back panel you will find reset button. press and hold for 20sec. So your router will get back defaul settings.

If you got the netopia in anyone of the 13 states that ATT controls, then that netopia will work in any other state, not just the phone number it was attached to. We are implementing technology now that it will be phone specific, but most people dont have that installed yet.

All you have to do is reset the netopia, open a browser, type 192.168.1.254 and set it up with the new username and password you created when you got your new DSL service.

in the ATT region, they use PPPoE (in general, even if you have sticky static IPs)

plug in the router, turn it on, open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.254

a little window will pop open

the username is admin, the password is the serial number on the bottom of the netopia

click on configure, then click on quickstart

type in your username (the emaill address from ATT like [email protected]) and your password for your email address

click submit underneath it

clike the yellow triangle up at the top right

click save and restart

in like 2-3 minutes, you can open IE or firefox, whatever

and see if you're online (you should be)

the cable modem should be giving the netopia an ip address

go inside the netopia by opening Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.254

a little window will pop open

make sure the wireless box is checked

name your network (SSID its called) like randy578

then click advanced if you want to enable wireless security encryption, your key to get online securely

click submit underneath it

in like 2-3 minutes, click the wireless connection icon by your clock

connect to randy578 network

you should now be online
