Vivitar 5000AF Multimedia Projector Questions & Answers
My Vivitar 5000AF Continually goes
Hi
Reading the specifications of the machine:
"The Vivitar 5000AF slide projector features vertical tray loading and cool, quiet operation. It features an 85mm f/2.8 lens, a remote control with forward and reverse, automatic focus with manual override, a slide previewer, and front-leg elevation. The package contains the projector, an FCS quartz halogen lamp (24 volts, 150 watts), and a rotary tray that can hold 100 slides. "
Looking at the picture of the porjector, the lens on the front appears to be manually rotateable as in you could carefully try to hold on to it, and see if it stops trying to focus, then rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise and see if that does it.
but don't force it, if its going crazy just carefully try to take hold of the lens on the front and see if it stops.
Slide projector does not completey cycle
Hello,
Thank you for using FixYa.
Its possible that the spring came out from the slide after you've reassembled it.There are two plastic pieces that is part of the slide which holds springs. There are two
springs in the slide, if one popped out then check out for other
spring.the fitting of both the spring are in same way.but if the plastic
lock is broken the spring cannot be fitted as original.you will have to
do some modification manually to fit the spring.
I hope this helps. Thanks and good day.

Vivitar 5000AF slide projector runs
There is likely a bad control board in the unit. Capacitors in these can overheat easily due to the small space.
One thing that you can at least try is unplugging it, while unplugged, press and hold the power button for 10 full seconds. then wait a minute, plug back in and try to use it. If the results are the same, further testing of the capacitors may need to be done to find the faulty ones and have them replaced by soldering them off and the new ones on. All the internal parts have imprinted numbers on them. They numbers are the voltage and ohm values.
