The Eco-Drive Chronograph models need at least
72 hours to reach a full charge under a bright desk lamp. After this
time period, you may need to perform an "all reset."
ALL RESET
All Eco-Drive models require an 'all reset' after charging from a complete loss of power or a low
power state. This is much like rebooting a computer after a power interruption enabling the movement to recognize the fully charged energy cell. This is one of the most frequently overlooked steps, especially on "simple" analog models, and if not performed, may result in irregular operation of the watch although it is fully charged.
'All-reset' for 'simple' analog models - those with no special features other than the time and
date feature (not perpetual calendar):
- After fully charging the watch, gently pull the crown out to the time setting position.
- After thirty seconds, return the crown to the closed position next to the case.
- After the 'all-reset' is complete, be sure to set the time and date (if applicable.)
- If your watch features a screw-down crown, be sure to securely tighten the crown against the case.
'All reset' for multi-feature and perpetual calendar models:
- Procedures for these types of watches vary by model. Be sure to refer to the instruction manual and/or our web site at www.citizenwatch.com for complete information.
After you have completed both these steps and the watch still doesn't hold a charge, you probably have a faulty capacitor. I’m happy to help further over the phone at
