Garmin FISHFINDER 300C NIC () Questions & Answers
The boat has been idle
Hello Alexpreerado,
I understand that you are having a problem with your Garmin fishfinder 300C. When in the water the unit is not turning on, however when out of the water the unit will turn on. I want to see if the unit will work in simulation mode.
To do this you will need to follow these directions:
When powered on select CONFIGURE, SYSTEM, SIMULATOR, ON.
If the simulator works then you know that the unit is working. Then go back thru the same way and turn the simulator back off,
Your unit is equipped with a self diagnostic unit that if there is a problem it should power and give you a fault reading. If the unit is not powering on while in the water you are loosing power to the unit. Put the boat back in the water and check the voltage going in to the unit. You may find that you have a short while the boat is in the water.
Post back with what you find from the above possible solution to the problem. And I will give you some more possible problems and solution to your problem.
Thank you for choosing FIxYa.com

I recently charged my battery
Maximum voltage for that unit is 33V. Test the voltage with a multimeter at the fuse block or as close to the unit as you can. If you are reading less than 33 volts than your voltage input is fine and you need to contact garmin for a repair or replacement if your unit is still under warranty.
Also check your connections at the battery; make sure everything is clean and that you do not have any + and - wires switched.
