Dewalt DC011 AM/FM Radio - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Want to change my 110v plug on my dewalt radio to
Your radio must be a import from the U.S.A. Your radio will not work on 240v YOU WILL BLOW IT UP!!! You need a step down transformer 240v to 110v to goto your radio, you will have to do a search on Ebay in Power tools. You sould notice the lead on your 110v radio is not like normal flex as its only single insulated for 110 volts.... Don't put a normal plug on or you may have to call the fire brigade!!
Radio works on mains but not battery
I take it the battery has life in it ? check the connections to where the battery makes contact on the radio, your battery contacts may not be connecting to the radio or they may need cleaning. Does the radio charge the battery still ?
My dewalt radio does not work
sadly , chances are you blow the whole power supply on it. you should check with your local servicenter for an estimate on the repair. the units that are made for USA are 110v
Got wet, display turns on, no sound
The salt water (you did say beach) shorted the innards. There is probably still salt in/on a lot of the electrical components causing shorts. Probably should give up on it.
Dewalt dw911 radio
I had the same problem with the case not coming apart after I took the screws off, but thanks to someone posting a suggestion on this website, I was able to take it apart and take care of the problem. Use a soft mallet and use it around the seam of the radio until it pops loose.
By the way, my original problem with the radio was that it would not get any power at all, whether using the power cord, or an 18v battery. I was able to fix the problem by replacing the fuse located inside the case (250v / 1AMP)......works great now!! Many thanks to all of you who posted suggestions on this great website!!
