You can get spares for an Actifry at Wesco Electrical, whose link I found buried deep in Tefal's own site. Lid is available here: http://www.werl.co.uk/lidcover-complete-ss991271-p-3106.html (£21.50) and paddles here: http://www.werl.co.uk/mixing-blade-seal-ss990596-p-2203.html (£18.21). I've got a lid on order, as the two tabs have started to break under the strain of the spring holding the lid open.

If you are in a hard water area you may need to descale the heater element. Try adding 1 cup vinegar to 3 cups water and run the machine should clear up the scale. Rinse thoroughly before use.

we had to return our first one for the same problem Gavin. Tefal (surprise surprise) claimed that nobody else had EVER had that problem. 2 years down the track though, and i've discovered that mine turns itself on at random intervals, and floods the kitchen bench. My advice - get a refund while you still can...

I have had the same problem with mine, I contacted Tefal today and they are arranging a free of charge replacement provided I have proof of purchase, which I do, also I contacted them on their SEB number not the 0845 which costs the earth.
