Shows a 5E error code.

SE means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

Actually the best overall solution to this problem is usually to order a new controller assembly (control box) and install it yourself. It's pretty simple.

No power - not the outlet or a fuse

If the internal fuse in the microwave is good, then it could be a bad wiring connection somewhere in the oven, or a thermal cutout has failed. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_29ad5d1dd86564b0

How to fix SE in the control panel of microwave

Remove power and clean the inside while checking if there are food particles on the inside or in the Wave-guides- the portion where the Magnetron is fitted. Also remove the main cover and clean the areas of the Magnetron , check for loose joints,Finally check if the main capacitor is faulty. Other wise you will need a check on the main board, and also the Magnetron for leakage.

Door latch

see this causes and fix it. God bless youOpen Lever If the microwave door won't open the open lever might be broken. This part can be replaced separately. Door Spring If the microwave door won't open the door spring may have broken. The door spring is located inside the door and keeps downward pressure on the door hook. Door Latch If the microwave door won't open the door latch might be broken. The door latch is inside the microwave. The door hook, which is part of the door, engages with the latch to keep the door closed during operation. If the door latch or actuator breaks the door may not open. Door Hook If the microwave door won't open the door hook might not be releasing properly. The door hook is installed inside the door and normally releases when the door is opened. The hook is made of plastic and will break over time. When this happens it will need to be replaced, it can't be repaired. Button Spring If the microwave door won't open the button spring might be broken internally. The button spring can be replaced. Button If the microwave door won't open the button might be broken internally. The button can be replaced. Handle Actuator If the microwave door won't open the handle actuator might be broken. This is a plastic part which can become brittle over time. This part is connected between the door button and the door latch assembly. 10_16_2012_1_56_17_pm.gif

Unit fails when attempting to cook.

see the steps and fix it. God bless you
  1. Main control boardIf your microwave runs for a few seconds and stops, the first thing to check is the main control board to ensure that a shortage has not occurred. If the part is defective then it will need to be replaced to prevent continual shut offs. If this is not the issue, the next step would be to check for a faulty touchpad.
  2. Touchpad/Control panelIf the control board is not the issue and your microwave continues to shut off after running for only a few seconds, the next thing to check is your touchpad, which is also known as a control panel. Although uncommon for this issue, symptoms are usually that the display and some buttons are working properly; however, when selected some buttons are not functioning. If this is the case the touchpad will need to be replaced.

Why samsung smh9187w door will not latch

Had the same problem on my Samsung SMH9187. The two latches are cheap plastic. After watching a video on U tube on how to get the door apart, I fixed it with a paper clip and ordered the parts online (two years later I still have the paper clip holding the plastic latch in place). Look for the SE error to happen next, its not made very good.

How do i remove the top screw that holds the control panel

First you have to remove the trim from the top, there are two screws holding that and then a bit of gentle prying/wiggling. If you're having trouble with the unit randomly resetting, try torquing the exposed screws behind the control panel. The important one is probably the grounding point. It seems to have done the trick for me, three weeks and no SE- codes.
