1. Power off the phone, press and hold camera button ( do not release), press power button until phone turns on.Release power button while holding camera button down.
   
2. Release the camera button when prompted (following the Batwings boot screen).
   
3. Press the volume down button and wait for 15 seconds for a "triangle !" to appear on the screen. ( message "volume up key pressed " will appear )
   
4. With flip closed, tap bottom right corner of darkened display (just above back button).

First of all the phone is sim locked to your simcard that is why it is asking you to enter sim pin when you use your son's sim. You can call the network provider and ask them yo give you the unlock code so that you can use different sim with the backflip. There are no way that you can incorporate your son's sim with your sim. The only thing you can do is hard reset your phone. You will lose all your info, but it's the only way I could get back in. Follow these directions:

Turn phone off, open the keyboard and press x while pressing the power button until you see a triangle with a yellow exclamation point appear. Press the camera button and the volume up button simultaneously until you get a data menu. Using the 5-way pad, scroll down to data reset and click with the D pad. When it is finished resetting, power off and then up again.

I can imagine a way, but have never tested it. I'm not sure whether Cupcake (Android 1.5) has the required feature, as present both in Eclair (2.1) and Froyo (2.2). By the way, if you are still in Cupcake, Eclair is available for you to have your phone ugraded. Take a look at this page for further details.
Anyway, back to our subject, open the phone dialer. Then, tap the 'Recent' tab and select 'Incoming calls' right beneath that tab. Tap and hold over the number which you want to have blocked and select 'Add to contacts > New'. Assign any name to it and tap the arrow at the right of 'Additional info'. Slide down and tick the 'Send straight to voicemail?' checkbox. Tap 'Save' at the bottom of the page.

Hard Reset
You undertake using this procedure at your own risk.
You are responsible for any data loss or any expenses incurred by using this procedure.

Perform these steps at your own risk.

1. Power off phone.
2. Hold camera button and power on phone at the same time.
3. Release the camera button when prompted to.
4. You will see a message screen telling you to press the up or down volume button
5. Press the down volume key (ignore message 'Volume Up Key Pressed') - This is fixed after updating to 2.1 and the proper message shows
6. When triangle and phone screen appears
7. Press on the screen just above the back key
8. You will now see the "Motorola system recovery" menu

At this point you will have three choices:
1. reboot system now [Menu+Back] 2. apply ssdcard:update.zip [Alt+S] 3. wipedata/factory reset [Alt+W]

You can simply tap an item to select it.

At the bottom of the screen you can select OK to apply your choice from the menu.

There is also an opportunity to select Hide on the bottom left, I don't know what that does (I tried it and nothing happened).

Selecting Wipe data/factory reset and tapping Ok and the screen changes to a box and a phone (Get it - out of the box) and you see what is happening on the phone.

pressing Menu+Back did nothing for me so I tapped 'reboot system now' on the menu and Ok.

The phone restarted and took me through the setup prompts.

It sounds like you've been very lucky in the past! Usually when a phone gets exposed to liquid, it immediately and irreparably damages the phone. In this scenario it seems that the water hadn't reached a critical part of the phone yet, when it did, the phone stopped working. See if your carrier offers accidental damage replacement and go from there. If they don't then try sticking your phone in a bag of rice for a day or 2. First, make sure songs you downloaded on the phone are in MP3 format, and videos should be in 3pg format......

Also, have it ever played an song without problems before now?

When a phone says file type not support it means the file is not compatible....

If it were to be a Nokia phone, the settings can be changed and it will accept most applications if not all. On nokia if you go to application manager, under setting, software installation set to "All" and Online certificate check set to "off".

So check the application settings of your phone and turn off every security certificate.

But if the application was working perfectly before now, then it might be a virus problem. Most times, virus complicate issues on phone.

Check the application settings ad keep me posted.
