I'am unable to get video

Try to ensure that you have selected "source" correctly from your TV and that the cables from your HT are set up correctly. If you pop in a DVD to the HT then **** about with the "source" options on the TV you should at least get sound (only one cable to worry about) or everything if you use an HDMI cable. The satellite or cable selection should go via the HT so again make sure if is is hooked up correctly - if you do not see DVD, Cable or the HT "home" screen then your TV may be faulty.

When i turn the stereo on it only goes on about 2

the PROT error can result in one of two things if you have a divx disk the system that could do it otherwise it results in a fault on an onboard fan to cool off the receiver. usually meaing a faulty fan. you can replace the fan easily. worst case is the board went bad and you may be able to find one on ebay for cheap. sorry for the bad news. but thats the reasoning behind it. i hope the bad news doesnt stop you from giving me a good rating lol! but really i am sorry about your problem.

I have direct tv and only 3 out of the 6 speakers

DirecTV broadcasts in stereo, which uses the front 2 and the subwoofer. There should be a program option to switch to either 7 channel or 5 channel stereo. Select that.

My Blue ray DVD remote control is working because

I have had used samsung electronics before with a mulifunction or universal remote in which the remote would light up when your pressed a button but nothing would happen. I learned that I had to press tv then the buttons to change the channel or volume etc and the dvd/disk changer to access dvd functions likewise. I have a similar system in which I select the auxillary setting when watching tv to have my surround sound system pick up the tv's audio signals. The problem is when you first turn the power on it has an automatic function which autoplays a blueray or dvd or it tries to load a disk even if none is in the disk tray. This is an annoying function I know and I wish when I turned on my theater it would be at the same settings as when I turned it off but it's not, this is the way it was designed and you just have to deal with it. hope this helps

Is there any way i can put the PS3 and the Hitachi

Possibly. I believe the HTC550 only has one audio input so you'll have to work around this. Check and see if you Hitachi TV has a headphone jack. If it does, patch the PS3 audio through the TV. Connect the TV to the HTC550 through the headphone jack using a 3.5mm to RCA cable pictured in the link.

How do u get surround

Most of the time, you will only get surround sound out of all the speakers when the Soure (ie Cable, Satellite etc.) puts out surround sound. The receiver can only give what it gets (unless it has a simulated surround function, in which case it wouldn't be true surround sound). If you can check the info from the source, see if it shows you Dolby 5.1 or DTS as an option. If these aren't available, then you won't get surround sound. Hope this helps!

I have the Samsung HT-C550

Try this:

Purchase a 3.5 mm jack (it will have a smaller connnector going into the TV and Red and White connectors on the other end).

Pull all the other cables running into the Blu Ray player out so that you are only left with the HDMI Cable coming from HDMI Out (DVD) to HDMI/DVI In (TV), along with the 3.5 jack.

You will be able to play the TV sound through the system.

My Samsung Remote doesn't work with my Blue Ray

Try this advice:

"Dead" Remotes Can Be Saved How to Re-Start Your "Dead" Remote Control This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls. Good Luck!
Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.
Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!
Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)
Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.
Step 5- Try the remote.
Special Note:
If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote. If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the unit.

If it works, Great!
If not, it's time to call 1-800-Remotes or use this website to order a new remote.

Trying to hook up a turntable to my HT C5500/XAA.

Sadly, it is only a Home Theater System. It is not a Audio/Video Receiver. The only possible way to get around this is to buy a converter to hook into your RCA turntable to the ASC IN Jack in the front lower left corner as you are looking at it! Sorry, I hope this will help you...

Sound only comes out of the front left speaker....

Hi, I see you say you have checked the connections, but the spring loaded terminals on these units are not the best. Sometimes if the wire goes in too far, it won't work or you think it's in the actual speaker terminal, but it has cought on the plastic just inside. I have done this before myself and by terminating and reterminating again and again, I finally won!

How do I clean my blu ray player?

Hi, Music and game discs collect dust and dirt on their surfaces overtime. This build-up can interfere with the sound and performance of both discs and the player system. Cleaning fluids and cloths will aid in keeping a Blu-ray discs clean, but to clean the lens of the player, some dissembling is required. Below are instructions on how to open up a Blu-ray player and clean the lens on the inside.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

* Blu-ray player
* Screwdriver
* Lens cleaner
* Cotton swab

Turn Blu-ray player over and remove the edge screws holding the bottom plate onto the drive using a small Philip's head screwdriver. These screws are located opposite each other on the bottom edge and one has a metal piece attached. Remember to reattach the metal piece when replacing screws later.

Remove the bottom two edge screws located near the center of the base and the three screws holding the base plate at the opposite edge from the screws in step 1. Again, one of the edge screws will have a metal piece that goes back in place later.

Extract the motherboard connectors. Once the screws are out, simply lift the lid and pull out the connector. The cable remains connected to the motherboard.

Remove the motherboard by lifting it and turning it to the right to pull out the cable connection. Do not yank the cable out. Grip the end plug firmly to release the cable.

Turn the player back over the right way and remove top cover to unscrew the four sides and one top screw holding the lens cover in place. The lens cover moves to the right so lens is accessible for cleaning.

Use cotton swab dipped in a little lens cleaner and clean the lens using a circular motion. Dry the lens using same motion with other end of the cotton swab.

Reassemble machine by reversing these steps.

Thanks for using fixya........
