Hi Skipping problem with a NAD

hi
There is a diode in the power supply which gives dc supply to the laser focusing coil driver ic . if the diode get faulty this problem can occur. Just replace all the rectifier diodes in the power supply stage. Its better than searching for the exact one. then check the cd player is it skips the tracks. if then also its skips the tracks then you have to change the laser pickup unit.
ok

Pb with standby button from france.

It is very possible that the tactile switch underneath the power button has become faulty. A little strange as these switches generally last for a long time. As the unit functions normally with the remote it cannot be a fault with the operation of the unit itself but just the power button. If it is under warranty I would contact the manufacturer or retail outlet you got it from and ask for a replacement. If it is out of warranty you could attempt to repair it yourself but to be honest tactile switches come in all different shapes and sizes and are not the easiest thing to replace if you don't have hot air soldering equipment.

If I were you I would give it a go with the manufacturer first.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

NAD S200 one channel is not working

You have a fault in the power amp. Identify the faulty channel by following the input leads. As, a stereo amp is basically two mono amps put together. You can compare the bad channel with the good one. First thing to do is a visual look around. If you see something odd looking in one channel and it's the faulty one, compared with the good channel, you might have found the cause. Look at the devices or device on the heatsink especially. If nothing stands out, the next thing to do is test the channels. You can do this in two ways. First, by touching the parts on each channel (with power on) with an insulated screwdriver. If you get a buzz in one channel and nothing in the bad one, in the same places of course! You might have located the faulty device. You can do the same with a volt meter. The readings should be the same in each channel. Work forward from the end of the preamp stage. Don't bother with the power supply parts, as they are common to both channels. By the way, don't short anything!
