I just searched hundreds of images to try to see what you are seeing and i can't find the image you are referring to. If there a way you can post a picture or web address?

in my experience its kinda hard to DIY a headphone repair

I had the same model. they are guaranteed for life. Its simple log on to there support tell them the problem and they will replace it for you. Since its there fault its messed up they will give you a coupon for the price of the Hesh's for there website to use to get new ones or to put towards the better ones. I just purchased the SK Pro's saved me a bunch of money with that coupon. So once again go to there site and fill out the simple form and ship them out ull have new ones and working ones in no time

Buy a good Jack to Jack cable, open your headphone, find out where the two cables are soldered, unsolder them.
Cut one end of your new cable, remove the plastic aroud the 2 wires on a small lenght and solder your new wires where the old were.

Et voila.

You could try a strong superglue. Sometimes you can melt it together with a small soldering iron. If you do, use eye protection and do it in a well vented room. You might need a small piece of plastic to melt, to reinforce it. Something like the plastic of the headphones. Such as "Airfix" bits or a pen top!

The only other solution is to find a cheap pair of headphones that uses the same size speakers as yours and take the old ones out and fit in your speakers. For more info on this see my tip on headphones by clicking my username.

check the jack first sometimes wire breaks at the soldering if it did re-solder it if you can not check it because is not a screw on plug you have to cut it and replace it u can find it at radio shack and if you take it already cut and new plug in hand to a TV repair shop they should charge you about 10 bucks and.............. try not to pull the cable to unplug it, hold the plug and pull.

All the headphones cannot be faulty at the same time. Check out the equipment that produces the sound first. That will be the source of the distortion.

The port is on the side near the bottom,just plug in the included micro USB cable and plug into USB power supply or use matching wall charger.

I seam to recall that in certain parts of the World Skull Candy offer a lifetime warranty on their headphones. So I would check their website out before trying anything else. If not then you can visit my guide on my blog about headphone repairs.

Sounds like a broken wire

The wires inside the cord have broken, Unfortunately there is really no easy way to fix it, they don't solder well and replacing the cord is the only option but this also may not be successful. Replacing the headphones is the only proper solution

It sounds like this might be a setting on whichever MP3 player, or sound device that you are using. You should check for an "EQ" on your device and try setting it to a different setting to make it so you can hear the music and vocals of a song.
