Tivoli (PAL) AM/FM Radio Questions & Answers
My Tivoli Pal radio casing has a sticky feel on
Just cleaned mine this morning because it was so ridiculously sticky and dirty with great success with nail polish remover and cotton pads. Read this solution posted elsewhere but was worried about ruining the finish, and there are warnings on the bottle about not using it on plastics......but tried a bit on the back. Went very well and with a load of pads and alot of scrubbing, it came completely clean! No sticky residue left, no discolouration. Looks brand new!
Bought a used iPal and
If the radio has a European-style plug, it's probably expecting 220-volt power since that's their standard. If you got a plug adapter but not a voltage converter, the radio won't work because the line voltage is too low.
Check the radio for a ratings label which will tell you for sure what the radio expects. There may be a selector switch on the back which will let the radio work on our line voltage. Otherwise you'll need to purchase a voltage converter to use the radio.
Radio will not play when turned on unplugged, but
I have the same problem with 2 Pal radio, I'm trying to find a solution, i think the trouble is in the switch to turn it on/off which has a bad electrical contact, I will tell you if I can find a solution.

I thought the battery went dead so I bought a new
No! this is clearly a manufacture defect and I would return it, even if the battery failed the AC plug in would work, since you are having trouble with both sides the problem is in the actual radio.
Antenna on radio broke
Radio Shack can get you an antenna, or a long wire (or wire coat hanger actually works too)
Tivoli Audio Model Two OFF - FM - AM - AUX Switch
It sounds like there may be a problem with the switch or the connections between the switch and the circuit board. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Clean the switch contacts: Over time, the contacts in the switch can become dirty or corroded, leading to poor or intermittent connections. You can try cleaning the switch contacts with a small amount of contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. Be sure to unplug the radio from the power outlet before attempting any cleaning.
Check the connections: The switch may not be making a good connection with the circuit board, or there may be a loose wire or solder joint. You can try opening up the radio (if you're comfortable doing so) and checking the connections between the switch and the board. Look for any loose wires or solder joints, and gently re-seat or re-solder them if necessary.
Replace the switch: If cleaning and checking the connections doesn't solve the problem, the switch itself may be faulty and need to be replaced. You can contact Tivoli Audio customer support to order a replacement switch and get instructions on how to install it.
