I have a Dimension c521 desktop Dell computer.
You need to look for the Audio-OUT 3.5mm jack on the rear of your computer chassis. It is usually colour coded green. If need be look at the rear out-puts, some-times there are small pictures indicating either Audio out.
Take care!

I want to know how to open my dell model A225
Dell A225 speakers.
What I used to disassemble / assemble mine:
Sewing needle;
Soldering iron;
Philips screwdriver;
Hot glue gun;
Have patience.
Use a sewing needle to pull the front grill of the speaker, carefully by the edges. Do not pull too hard, go pulling around the screen to prevent warping.
Loosen the two small screws at the base of the box.
Loosen the six screws you see, the top four has a glue to prevent vibrations.
The card is only snapped, just pull it.
Use the soldering iron to soften the hot glue that holds cables and presto, its sound box is open.
When mounting, use the hot glue to hold it again, to avoid vibration at the time of use.
Sorry for the lack of pics!
Hugs from Brazil and good luck!

Have no sound from my speakers now
Go to "My Computer", then "Control Panel". Then click on "Sounds and audio devices". Make sure that the volume slider you see there is turned up, and that the "Mute" box is not checked. If all is well there, click on the "Advanced" button right there in the device volume box. Check to make sure those sliders are up, and that nothing (that you use) is Muted.

Go to Control Panel, then Sounds and Audio Devices. Make sure the volume slider you see there, is turned up. If so, click on the Advanced tab, then check to make sure that those levels are turned up, and that nothing is Muted.

Dell a225 2 speakers light on fully plugged in..
Try going to "control panel", then "sounds and audio devices" (in XP, should be the same in newer OS's). Click on the "advanced" button under Device Volume. That brings you to "volume control". Make sure the levels are up and the device is not muted.

Speaker will not work. Cannot adjust the volume.
Make sure you can see the small LED light on the speakers. If I remember correctly, those speakers are USB powered, and need to be plugged into the USB port for power, and the green audio output port for sound signal. If they are plugged in, and you cannot turn them on, you have broken speakers. If you CAN turn them on, then ensure that the audio cable is plugged into the green audio output jack (sometimes it has a headphone icon by it) and make sure your computer has not muted the audio.

Speakers
It's not with the speakers. Try checking the audio settings of your computer.
