This is one way to test your webcam under Windows 7 and 8:

• Start up your PC and make sure your webcam is connected.

• Download/extract WebcamViewer.

• Doubleclick the exe file.

• Select the right camera and click Connect.

Done, you will see the picture of your webcam. Note: If you get an application error when running the program, you have to install .net Framework.

Can you explain a little clearer ..but sounds like fan issue ... Usually fan clogged with dust...remove back off pc and clean fan if that's the case ....

I Received a Message About Backdating. What Do I Do? If you receive the message below it means that your computer date has been changed to a point in the past. Either the date was set forward and you just fixed it, or it was set correctly and you just moved it back. In both cases you will receive the following message: Express is designed to protect against backdating, as it causes major database integrity errors. If you received the above error, you should:

• Move the computer date to today's date, or
• Keep the computer date as today, restore your database to the backup made on what the computer thought was today's date, and re-enter all transactions and changes made in the database between the date that the computer thought was today (probably yesterday or the day before) through current.

For example, if today is August 23 and you discover that the computer thinks it's August 24, you will need to fix the computer date, restore the database to the one made on "August 23," (which is actually August 22) and put in all the transactions that happened between the time the backup was made on August 22 and right now.

I use the combination of pressing <Ctrl>+<Fn>+<Print Screen> to copy the screen capture to the clipboard. The Ctrl and Fn keys are adjacent in the lower left hand corner of the keyboard (just left of the Windows key). The Print Screen button is the key to the farthest to the right on the top-most row of keys (look for the blue paper + printer icon). Next open Paint. (Start > Accessories > Paint). Then choose Paste from the left hand side of the ribbon. (There is a down arrow which gives Paste or Paste From options. Just use the Paste.) Now crop the screen capture if desired and then click on File > Print > Print. Then select your printer and press Print. That should be the serial key of that Windows sticker on the back of your laptop. I think they may have even changed the name of it from "serial key" to "recovery key".

Hi It sounds as if the hard drive in your machine has lost the ability to boot the machine up. If you can boot from a bootable CD/DVD or bootable USB drive if these options are available from the boot menu, then this confirms the hard drive has problems. Try using the "Lenovo button" just to the right of the Power button to see if you can return the computer to previous settings the worked. Be wary though as choosing the "restore to factory settings" option will lose all the data on the hard drive, and should only be used if your data is backed up properly, or in utter desperation.
