Lexmark Platinum Pro905 multifunction InkJet Printer Questions & Answers
How to connect to lexmark pro 905 wirelessly
First, make sure you connect the Lexmark to your wireless network. Select the tools (wrench icon) from the home screen. Scroll to Network Setup and enter your wireless permissions. If setup is complete and the printer successfully connects - the upper right wireless indicator will turn from orange to green. Then it's a matter of connecting your wireless device. If when setting up a new printer (or "Add Printer") you see the Lexmark in the list, then it's a simple point/click. However you might have to manually enter the IP address of the Lexmark on your device which you can find in the tools, Network Setup TC/IP menu.
Left hinge broke on lexmark pro 905
Not a perfect fix, but this is what I did: There are 2 spring-loaded pistons located on the printer side of the hinge that cause this problem. I think there should be another piece of plastic that holds the top of the printer hinge down on these springs, but when this hinge is gone, the top of the printer is held upward by them. If you use some pliers to gently pull these spring-loaded pistons upward, you can easily pull them out, followed by the springs they cover. Once removing these, the top of the printer lies flat. The top is still unstable, but mine will now feed paper just fine and closes. Hope this helps! WebRepOverall ratingThis site has no rating(not enough votes)
Lexmark platinum pro905 fax
If you're having problems sending faxes, make sure that the printer is connected to an active phone line. The best setup would be to connect the printer straight to a wall jack and the other end of the phone cable should be connected to the line port at the back of the printer. If you're having receiving faxes, check the fax settings > Ringing and Answering. Check if the Auto Answer is enabled and check how many rings the fax will pick up any faxes sent to your number. If you have an answering machine connected to the same line, set the printer to pick up 3 rings higher than your fax machine. If you have a voicemail service, you'll need to get a distinctive ring feature from your phone provider.
Can i print in black if the colour has run out
You won't be able to print if one of the cartridges is out of ink. The printer will prime every once in a while thus the need for all cartridges to have sufficient ink levels to prevent damaging the printhead.
Iam getting remote fax error
Please try this approach:
1.
Try to resend the fax.
There may have been a problem with the quality of the connection.
2.
Decrease the
transmission speed of your fax modem. Press Setup button > Fax Setup >
Dialing and Sending > Max Send Speed > 9600. Resend the fax.
3.
Re-register your user
information - fax name and fax number. Some fax machines block faxes without
sender information. Press Setup button > Fax Setup > Dialing and Sending
> Your Fax Name (re-enter your fax name). Follow the same steps and go
to Your Fax Number - re-enter your fax number. Resend the fax.
I hope this helps.

Will note delete documents
If you're using Windows, it could be due to the pc's Print Spooler service not running. Please try the steps below to fix the problem:
- Browse to Start -> Run...
and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print
spooler service)
- Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\
folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around
the time you tried to print - delete these files.
- Browse to Start -> Run...
and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the
print spooler service)
Try
to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
