Pls check if sound icon is seen in your task bar near time display,if not then add sound driver if it is present then check whether it got mute by mistake

Either is problem with speakers or with your software. So just right click on speaker icon in notification area and open playback devices and see if you can see your speaker. and then right click and then select test. If you cant see your speaker in the list, you probably have driver problems and u need to install all necessary audio drivers, if you can see it bt cant listen anything, there is a prob wid ur speakers.

you backlight is gone in this monitor, you have two options number one: Replace the scren, Number two: replace the whole thing

get a screw driver, open it and fix the button.

go to menu and choose auto position to reset the screen.

more of a mechanical issue already. if it is within warranty, request a replacemen from Dell

Make sure you are on the correct video setting on the monitor using the menu button.
If you are hooked up to dvi you need to make sure the monitor is on the dvi component. VGA same thing.

Please clarify by shut off you mean power light turn off or just screen gone blank but power light remain on!
