Apple keyboard eats batteries

I read it is the batteries being used, Stars not being aligned, incense not burned correctly, but I know from experience that it can be the BT keyboard itself. Be it age, a few drops here and there who knows Apple ain't saying and the forums are allot of complaining with not much else there other then to buy a new one. So my new one works great ;-)

I have purchased a song from my iphone it has downloaded onto my apple mac but it will not play i have not had any problems with it untill now

Unless I have missed something a Apple media download does not have download limits. E.G I installed a new Hdd, so once I log into my iTunes account I can simply download any missing songs again to my library.

I have just purchased an external hard drive for my mac as it is now full. its a toshiba store.e canvio. i have just transferred a movie from iTunes to the drive but it will not play and says file is

This may be a permissions problem. In finder, click on the file, then go to File:Get Info (or type <command>-i). In the file info window, look for "Sharing and permissions." Click on the triangle to expand. Look for a padlock icon, then click on it and type in your administrator password when it is requested. Now you can change permission from "No access" to "Read Only" or "Read and Write." If this is not available, you've run afoul of iTunes copy protection, or iTunes is not set to look there for files. In the first case, you'll have to work from inside iTunes to get a viable copy onto the external drive, perhaps as a backup copy. In the second case, you would open Preferences in the iTunes menu, then click the Advanced tab to get to the iTunes media folder location dialog. (Make sure the external drive is connected before opening Preferences.) Click "Change..." and browse to the proper folder on the external hard drive. You will have to change back to the original location if the external drive is not connected, so first copy the original location path name and paste it on a Stickies note. After you set the external location, do the same with that path name. Then instead of having to navigate to file locations every time you change, you can just copy the path from the Stickies note and paste it into the location box. The preceding paragraph was written for iTunes 10.6.3. Your version may differ somewhat.

IMac will not start up.Question mark in a box comes up.Also will not boot up from start up disc

The operating system on the hard drive is corrupted, or the hard drive is not available. The procedure for starting from the startup disk varies a bit depending on the model of iMac. On the oldest ones (CRT iMac) and some of the early display-on-a-dome models, hold down the "C" key while starting the computer. This will force the computer to bypass the hard drive and boot directly from the startup optical disk. (If the C key doesn't work, restart and follow the option key procedure in the next paragraph.) On newer Macs, hold down the option key while pressing the power button until you see that the boot loader is running. You should see an icon for at least one drive on the screen, perhaps followed by another. One of these is for the optical drive. It may take several tens of seconds for the optical drive icon to appear, particularly on older iMacs. Use the arrow or tab keys to select that one, then press return to start loading the system on that disk. If you only see the optical drive icon, that confirms there is a problem with the hard drive. Try Disk Utility anyway; if it can find the hard drive, there is some possibility of recovering it, or reformatting and loading from your backup. If the hard drive icon appears in the startup option screen, Disk Utility may be able to repair the problem if it is a file system issue affecting system loading. If a fundamental system file is corrupted, you will likely have to reinstall the OS. In the worst case, the hard drive has a physical problem. Most of the time this is mechanical (sometimes announced with repeated, regular clicking noises as the drive vainly hunts for its starting position). Rattling noises (like the head has separated from its arm and is bouncing around) are also most unwelcome. Occasionally, the problem is with the controller board on the hard drive. In this case, if you can find another drive of the same model, you can swap controller boards (doing so successfully requires observing electrostatic discharge safety procedures to prevent zapping the drive, and properly identifying and operating the latch mechanism for the ribbon cable connector that connects the board to the drive mechanism). Generally, however, you have to replace the hard drive. Once in a while, the problem is with the cable between the hard drive and the logic board. On the old Macs with IDE drives (40-line ribbon cable connecting both optical drive and hard drive on some, two such cables on other models), there may be a bad connection on one wire because the wire is not properly seated in its two-tined fork inside the connector. To reseat the wires, gently push the cable down right at the connector shell (towards the surface of the connector shell that is pushed onto the pins of the drive or logic board). Do not put a crease bend on the cable there; you're just trying to make sure the wire is in the bottom of its fork. Repeat on the other side of the connector with the end of the cable (use a fingernail to catch the edge of the cable end).

How to change from military 24 hr to regular 12 hour on iMac

If you have the time shown in your menu bar click on it, and select "Open Date & Time from the drop-down menu. If not, you will have to open System Preferences, (found in the Applications folder, and probably in the Dock, also.) Once you launch System Preferences, click on Date & Time Preferences and you should find three clickable menus (Date & Time; Time Zone; Clock.) Under "Clock" you should find a checkbox labelled, "Use a 24 hour clock." Deselect it. You're done. Easy!

Google com

Apple has a variety of 'beeps' (sound) and 'blinks' (lights) for both computers and monitors. Your 3 beeps (wild guessing here) could be as noted in this link below ... which will also steer you in the right direction. Note too, that blinking lights - can have a pattern (3 blinks: short-short-long, for example). These also have specific diagnostic meanings and you might make a note before searching. Link to some ref on blinks and beeps is here (a paste follows this note too): https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4357348?tstart=0 G5 mac reference - PASTED DIRECTLY FROM THE APPLE COMMUNITY SUPPORT PAGE AT THE LINK ABOVE: Limnos Sep 26, 2012 9:00 AM in response to Kort ' This helped me For future reference: Power-On Self-Test Beep Definition - Part 1 - http://support.apple.com/kb/TA43884 Power On Self-Test Beep Definition - Part 2 - http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n58442 The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted). If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance. 1 beep = no RAM installed 2 beeps = incompatible RAM types 3 beeps = no good banks 4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block) 5 beeps = processor is not usable In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once. You can also run Apple Hardware test from your original installer disc. Sometimes with RAM it is just easier to pull units and test them individually.

Since acquiring Apple Mac I notice on my BT Mail (my preferred choice) I seem unable to see mail that is older, I can only see mail to bottom of page, why is this please?

If you use a touch pad place the cursor over the list of emails and then place your two middle fingers in the middle of the touch pad, swipe up the touch pad. If you use the mouse do the same except you can use one or two fingers to swipe up.
