Power Never Comes on

that remote wire has to be hooked up to the power or the radio power antenna wire which will switch the remote wire on when the radio is turned on, so that remote wire really should be hooked to the radio wire that gets power when the radio is turned on , thats why the sub is not turning on

Infinity Basslink

Hello,
That popping you hear is most likely the voice coil blown and your not going to get much out of it now. Discontinue use of the unit so it doesn't blow the amp, and you can get the sub replaced if you don't want to toss it.
Good luck, hope this helps

Amp keeps blowing fuse

I have this same problem. You have blown the internal amp. I have had 2 of these do the same thing. There is nothing you can do but report it to infinity and try to get the unit replaced.

Sub wont hit

Hi,

Appreciate again the "Ask Me".

Appreciate the "FixYa" rating you have given me here. moz-screenshot.jpgA request if I may, my being able to assist you is largely dependent on my standing (rating and raking) on the site. Since the Panasonic has been successfully dealt with, perhaps you can re-evaluate and rate the following as you see them fit:
Many thanks in advance. As to your current concern, the 400watt bridged amp:
  • if the Panasonic was wired reversely, might it be possible that the sub amp was likewise wired reversely and therefore suffered similar electronic failure?
  • most high power amps have a built-in DC to DC power supply other than the external 12VDC, these would often fail if reverse power is delivered even just once;
  • since it is heating, then it is actively drawing power. that would mean that (if it is wired correctly), the SMPS (switch mode DC to DC power supply) might have a problem. Often culprits may include:
  1. capacitor;
  2. regulator;
  3. diode;
  4. or any of the other components.
Further diagnosis leading to a repair would require familiarity with electronic circuitry and components, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. Or perhaps you may again seek the assistance of whoever worked on the Panasonic.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Red light comes on and then slowly goes out. No output

For some reason you are not getting constant power to the system. What gauge power/ground are you running? Describe your system to me and we'll see what I can do to help.

Infinity Basslink killing battery

Both issues sound like they are related to a non-connected or loosely connected remote wire on the Basslink.

If you're using RCA preamp wires to connect your stereo to the Basslink, make sure the remote wire input on the Basslink is solidly connected to the stereo's remote output.

If you're using the speaker level inputs on the Basslink and not the RCA preamps, make sure the remote input is not connected, as the Basslink will automatically turn on when it senses the speaker level inputs are active.

Servo light

You have an internal problem in the amplifier of the sub woofer box. You need to take it in to be checked at a service center, there are no quick fixes for them. Sorry,

Basslink

My first suggestion is to check the gain setting of the unit. If it's above the 50% point, drop it down.

Second, verify your ground connection is good, short, and solid.

tip

Don't bother calling Tech Support...

They will just tell you to send everything to some place in CA, they won't even ask you what the problem is half the time.

No power

Hi,

Other than the +12V, the ground (-) and the 2 RCA inputs, normally external amps have also a remote trigger which switches it to active on. The remote trigger is activated by a wire from the head unit. Colors would either be yellow or blue but depends on manufacturer of head unit. Alternately, you can connect a simple toggle on/off switch to activate the external amp.

Additionally, pls verify that the 2 RCAs from your head unit are audio out and not audio in for aux source.

Good luck and kind regards.

Basslink drops out.

The auto on switch should only be in the on position when the REM wire is NOT connected. Auto on can be flaky. Basslinks respond better to RCA inputs then the high level ones. You might try getting an RCA line converter, they work very well with the Basslink.

LED lights up but! ???

Sounds like there is a problem with the amp. Try switching the inputs around for that output on the amp. If that does not help, Yes I would have to say that there is a problem with the amp output circuit.
