Frgidaire dehumidifyer runs but coils do not get

the condenser is probably clogged with dust thus restricting the air flow required to cool it down. if it has a filter on the front, take it out and clean it. if it does not, try to remove the front cover and, using a stiff bristled brush and simple green, clean the fins on the condenser then hose it down. if there, then, is no air flow, check the fan. replace if necessary.

Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier model

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Remove the water collection bucket and set aside. At the top of the bucket holder, just behind the louvers you should see a plastic pull tab, which is part of the filter frame. If you have never removed the filter before, there may be a piece of plastic tape on the filter frame. It was put there for shipping. Remove and discard it. Pull straight down on the plastic tab and remove the filter. It can be cleaned by vacuuming it or if it's really dirty, wash it in with warm water and mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly, shake off access water and allow to completely dry, before reinstalling it. Never operate the unit without the filter in place, as doing so could cause damage to the unit. The filter should be removed and cleaned once every two weeks.

I have attached a hose

You will need to unclog the internal drain tubing to the hose connection. To accomplish this, do the following:

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection hole & tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reconnect the hose to the unit, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose end for water flow. It may take 10 to 15 minutes for it to start flowing. So be patient.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

Dehumidifer FDD40J6, probably 10 years

The problem lies in the way the bucket is reinstalled or the float valve (if yours is so equipped) is stuck in the UP position.

Remove the bucket for it's holder and check for the float valve. If it is stuck in the up position, jiggle the arm to make it return to the down position. Be fore you reinstall the bucket, look at the back wall of the bucket holder. There you will see a trigger switch. It's the bucket safety removal switch. Check it to make sure it's still intact. At 10 years old it may have broken OFF. If it appears to be be intact, install the bucket "squarely" into the bucket holder from top to bottom. Being sure that it makes firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch. When installed correctly, the bottom of the bucket will not tilt down at all.

Also, check the air intake filter as it may be dirty of clogged.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
