Can't upload oics from camera to laptop
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.
How do I turn the
I'm not sure you can. I just had mine sent back to the company for repair because I thought the flash had died. The new camera worked until I turned the sound off. Every time. I'm thinking there's a software glitch. I'm going to notify the company in writing and via phone. Maybe do the same?
How to return deleted images

This cannot be a power connection fault as in the first place it was IMPORTANT that the camera was remove and washed /cleaned of the moisture within the unit, specially the main circuit board. If there was moisture then it might have shorted the circuits because of electrical conduction. This would result in intercircuit shorting as sensitive circuits can be damaged.
Hence in the first place nothing can be done from the outside as it is necessary that the camera be opened to confirm the circuit board contacts.
You will need good tools - micro type - to remove the camera while you make a note of all the screws and the part taken while the boady is removed.
Now check the terminals of the battery to the circuit, clean , wash the circuit board ONLY with petrol to clean all moisture and dry using a hair dryer. Keep the circuit under the heater without damaging the delicate plastics-- just warm,
Now reassemble after checking the circuit with a magnification observation lamp.
If the camera does not switch on the control board is damaged and will need a replacement.

Hello
At the link below you will be able to download software which will help you in the recovery process.
Click
HERE to download the Software.
Once the software is downloaded, unzip it and run. Then you will need to either connect the camera to the computer via the USB connection, or place the memory into a memory card reader and connect it to the computer.
Once you have done the above, you will need to run the software. You will be able to choose the specific drive you would like to perform the recovery on. This does not always work 100%, but it is the best free software at the moment.
Please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.
Kind regards

Taking a photo of another photo with the finepix
Place your camera in MACRO mode to shorten the focal length. Make sure your flash is off. You can zoom in a little bit, but the trick to using MACRO mode is finding how close you can get to the photo without blurring- it takes some practice. You want enough light coming over your shoulder so the picture is not dim, but no glare either. If you can prop your photo up at an angle so that you cand find the "sweet spot" that gives you good lighting and minimal glare, you are home free!
