The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Check your settings first. If this still doesn't work then you'll have to take/send your camera to an authorized Nikon service center.

Hello. I have Nikon L110.
You can try using your flash to provide enough light so that your shutter speed is fast enough to help prevent motion blur and blur from not being able to hold the camera still enough to get a sharp picture.
Also depends on what shooting mode you and your friend was using and what lens, ISO, fstop was used.
Good Luck!
When I use my camera
Use the memory card on your PC card reader and check the properties, if the card can be formatted then do so after removing all the files/pictures.
Now try this on the camera, if another card works well with the camera the card is faulty , if not there are issues with the interface within the camera and must be probed .

Some devices use a special type of battery for their operation even though there might be other batteries with the same size and specifications. It is mostly done by some company to promote the sales of their own batteries so as to be used for these designated devices.
You have to go through your manual carefully for the kind of battery that you are expected to use your device with and when you see it, please make sure to get the exact same type. You can also buy the batteries from a reputable site or from the accessories section of the company's website.
That being said, there is also a possibility that the terminals that do come in contact with the batteries may have corrosion or may be making poor contact. To settle this, you have to clean the terminals properly and ensure that the terminals are making good and perfect contact.
Lastly, you might want to consider turning off certain features like the flash and other related features so as to preserve the battery life.
Please let me know how well you went with this suggestion. Thank you for using FixYa.

It's probably a blown flash capacitor. Without the capacitor the camera can't store enough energy to get the flash to flash. It's fixable if you know electronics (probably quite hard though), otherwise you should get it repaired.
Good luck!
